The Matron Coucil of Drissab'aun is the governing body of the city. Every important thing that happens in Drissab'aun goes through it.

The Matriarch of the city is the spokeswoman and the leaderof the matron council. In even cases, her opinion is the deciding one.
The chaotic aspect of the Lolthian drow society is also very evident in the Matron Council itself. The the hierarchy of the city is always fluctuating and the positions of the noble drow families change ever so often. Currently there are 13 seats for the noble families in the Matron Council, but the families left outisde the council are always searching for openings to get themselves into the council, in the expense of some other families. The fight of the seats is always on and the families of the city, both noble and not, are trying to find the right ways to slither into favor.
