One of the massive engine nacelles on the Ark Ship has a critical failure and explodes destroying all of the semi-permanent encampment around the ship that scavenge technology to send back to the cities for refurbishment and reuse. Thousands of technicians and scientists killed, major loss of technological resources.

This disaster wiped out some of the best technological experts from all around the world who specialized in the knowledge of how to safely remove and repurpose the equipment on the ship that was Star Walker technology.   The ship took a lot of damage but the explosion created a 100 mile wide hot zone and made coastal cities to the east uninhabitable with radiation, strange rays and chemical contamination.   This event has lead to the area around the ship to spawn cypher based bio mechanical organisms, mutations, rouge automatons, and probably ended any hope to understand their patron's technology.
