Rorum, Goddess of Night and Darkness (Roar - umm)

The Matron of Shadows, Revealer of Stars, Rorum

A cold breeze invisibly wisps through your hair, spotty clouds above move quickly through a star dotted sky. The moon shining down warmly onto the world. Night is a grand misconception. Often feared for concealing its dangers, but oh so often overlooked for revealing the beauties of life and nature. Moonlight walks, glittering skies, cosmic showers, representing the end of the day where relaxation can begin. All too often is night perceived as a time of evil, Rorum works quite hard to shed these perceptions, unfortunately mortals do get stuck in their beliefs all too often.

Divine Domains

Night, Darkness, Space and the Stars

Holy Books & Codes

"The Dark Nights Prayer" a psalm of comfort for those troubled by the beings of the night. Softly spoken, drifting off the lips like a whisper, it's a call of protection to The Matron of Shadows.   "The Silver Speckled Sky" a holy book, deciphering the constellations of the night. Focused upon learning the meanings and warnings that the stars are meant to depict. Thanks to this book, many astrologists are dedicated worshippers of Rorum.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Her pendants and symbol, are a full moon often enchanted to filter through the various stages of the moon.

Holidays

"The Ever-Night" a holiday that occurs during midwinter where there is only 4 hours of daylight. Once nighttime descends upon the residents of Altheria. Festivities breakout until sunrise. Grand fires and floating lanterns adorn city streets with soft glows of light. Often times a meteor shower will be seen streaking sharply above in the long night sky. This is a holiday dedicated to embracing the night and the ones who reside within. Beautiful constellations are observed, nighttime parades echo among city streets, altar contests are performed seeing who can construct the greatest tribute to Rorum.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Rorum has a strict obsession with the balance of day and night. She would even oppose someone who is trying to bring permanent night. She is a strict believer of work and rest. Rorum meticulously keeps charge of the cycle, so much so that Fernus doesn't even get himself involved with the cycle. After a grand number of years trying to help her, Fernus eventually deduced it would be best to just let Rorum handle such activities.

Physical Description

Special abilities

Like many of the Demi-gods beneath her in her court. Rorum is capable of teleporting in shadows, but also general darkness as well.   Darkness of any kind fails to impair her vision.    Rorum has never been seen carrying any form of weaponry. Which has lead most mortals to believe that she is a potent spellcaster.

Specialized Equipment

Most usually seen wearing the "Midnight Dress" a star spattered large black lace gown. This gown is believed to make Rorum impervious to physical touch as long as it is night time.    She also is often seen adorning the "Moon's Crown" mortals have actually been unable to decipher the effects of the Moon's Crown. All that is known is that it is an immensely powerful artifact that Rorum keeps shrouded in mystery.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Rorum entered into existence only 12 hours after the creation of Fernus, God of the Sun and Day. Upon Fernus resting after creating the first day. His work was quickly consumed by darkness, confused and worried, Fernus worked steadily to push the darkness away in his exhausted state. But to no avail, Rorum soon emerged from this unfamiliar dark. Confronting Fernus, Rorum uttered her first words "No need to fear the dark dear, I am a kind being." Fernus and Rorum then began working together to create the day night cycle that now dictates all of time.

Gender Identity

Rorum like most gods can alter her appearance in a plethora of ways. But she has only exclusively appeared throughout the ages as a woman.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Rorum has long since achieved her greatest goal (creating the night and day balance with Fernus). Nowadays she spends her time sifting through the prayers and cries of her followers. She has most recently taken up a large fascination in the happenings of mortals. Some have come to believe that she is just immensely bored, and hoping to help stir up some form of entertainment or possible calamity. She's kept most of her interest focused on the region of Stelliah.

History

The night and its stars have a beautiful and slightly haunting way of illuminating Coxillium's wonderous creations. For this, Coxillium is grateful, ever since the recognition of this in the primordial ages. Rorum and Coxillium have had sort of a brother sister relationship. Occasionally they bicker with one another, and occasionally they show love for each other. They maintain a pretty healthy relationship, often collaborating over Coxillium's creatures of the night.
