Auril

The Frostmaiden Auril (a.k.a. The Cold Goddess, Icedawn, Lady Frostkiss, Frost Spride Queen)

Auril, also known as The Cold Goddess, The Frostmaiden, Icedawn, and by some even so far as to be called the Queen of Air and Darkness is known to be a fickle, vain and evil deity, who is primarily venerated out of fear. She is most powerful in those regions that were affected by deep winters. 
  Primarily venerated out of fear but also out of respect for the harshness of the winter. Her very existence making people prepare and respect the upcoming winter and is feared and respected even by the dwarvs in particular the dwarven clan of Icebeard who respect her hold and influence in their region.

Her symbol is depicted as a six pointed snowflake.

Tenets of Faith

Dogma: "Cover all the lands in ice. Quench fire wherever it is found. Let in the winds and the cold; cut down windbreaks and chop holes in walls and roofs that my breath may come in. Work darkness to hide the cursed sun so that the chill that Auril brings may slay. Take the life of an artic creature only in great need, but slay all others at will. Make all Althoa fear the Frostmaiden. Revere the Cold Goddess and sing her praises into any chill breeze or winter wind. Do not raise your hand against any other cleric of Auril."   Worshippers Sacrifices to the Frostmaiden are common, especially in the North. People hoping to appease her and thus avoid cripplingly cold winters. She has also had several temples made along the bigger mountain chains in Altoa including Snowcap Mountains the divide the Farlands and La'Bestia .   Most followers are loosely organized with the main goals of most followers to intimidate common folks to make them venerate the Frostmaiden to avoid reprisals, by making donations to her church/temples. Her priests where ice white robes with blue trim and are easily identified by the dire warnings they proclaim of the wrath of Auril come winter. They are also know to cast cold-based spells.   Notable followers: of The Frostmaiden: The Dwarven clan of Icebeard  respect the non dwarven goddess and celebrate Midwinter Night  and preserve greens, fish and meat and present them to Auril in hope of appeasing her. Protection from avalanches, frostbite and she is in particularly prayed to before a journey through the mountain peaks of the Snowcap Mountains .

Holidays

Midwinter Night, most holy of nights regarding her faith. A festival of ice dancing that lasts all night.
