The Dread King lived for an incredibly long time. In the millenia he spent alive he hoarded knowledge and information... some believe he was originally a follower of Vecna which led to his secrecy and lust for magical power, in his spire he had thousands of ancient tomes and books hoarded away to himself. The books were all moved to A'mlon, leaving the spire empty for the speaker.
The Spire of Knowledge was formed from this. A gorgeous pillared temple of a building devoted to housing the endless knowledge of the dread king.
Many scholars visit the college to learn and fail to return for days as they get lost in the labyrinth.
Entry to the library costs 10gp per 8 hours and Membership to the library requires payment of an object the library find original worth in... knowledge or research or a scroll they were not aware of.
The library is guarded by 4 inquisitors, squads of crownsguard and the librarians are deeply skilled at their work.

Purpose / Function

The Spire is a reliquary of incredible knowledge and information. Containing books upon books and freely sharing (the legal ones) with the public... for a small fee of course.

Alterations

The space is regularly altered and changed to accommodate magical items, more books and different kinds of research.
