The Umbral Knights found a way to defeat the Dread King and sent out their chosen warriors to collect it. Soon after, the True Heroes found the key to defeating The Dread King , the sentient cursed weapon known as Dread's Bane . They also managed to do the impossible and killed one of The Dread King Black hand. The Executioner.
The Umbral Knights sent out their chosen warriors to investigate rumours of this 'Special Blade'. These rumours brought them across the country and they found themselves heading north. Dangerously close to the Dread King's spire. On their adventure, the group found a haunted and dark cabin with the ghost of a killed hunter protecting it's corpse. The hunter wanted to be buried by the tree of their former lover and, when the party complied as opposed to simply killing the ghost, Proto received two tear-shaped pearl earrings, hunters tears. Simply crush one of the pearls and the whole party will be teleported back to the Hunter's Cabin. Moving on from this, the party found the ruins of a town (the town that is now known as Aaramor) within this town they discovered corpses, markings of a Grymhook clan that once resided there and also a temple to Kord... though it was defaced and near burnt to the ground. The party entered the temple and trashed it, Ardeth especially enraged at the way the Dread King had attempted to destroy the temple of the god she followed. As they trashed, the party found a panel leading to a deep cave beneath the ground. Following it down, the party soon entered a room with a large, putrid pile of corpses and, within those corpses the party felt the presence of a VERY powerful magical weapon. At that point, the Executioner appeared, a Drow of silent disposition with a dancing double sided glaive. The party entered into battle with one of the dread kings black hand as the corpse pile came to life and sought to ensnare them from the other side. Effectively splitting the group between two fights. As most of the party fought the executioner, Ardeth and Coll dealt with the corpse pile. Slowly breaking it down until Ardeth reached inside and pulled out the weapon. Immediately forced to attune to it, unwittingly, Ardeth established herself as the new wielder of Dread's Bane. Soon after, the party managed to kill the Executioner and Proto claimed her dancing blades. With their weapons in tow, the True Heroes returned to the Umbral Knights with news of their progress and, with the rest of the Umbral Knights, found themselves arriving at the final space for mortals... the Bastion.
