Emain Ablach (+)

The Island home of the Tuatha de Danann and homeland of Gwaeron Sulime Dethemir

Demographics

The population is largely made up of the Tuatha de Danaan, although some solitary sidhe and Re Vihan live here as well in smaller numbers. The small amount on non-fae on the island are Milliget (AKA: Fey-touched, The Accursed, Faebloods)

Government

Emain Ablach is ruled by a council of 9 sorceresses, chief among them The Morrigan, Queen of Winter, and Titania, Queen of Summer. Moronoe and Mazoe serve the Morrigan, while Tyronoe and Thiton serve Titania. Rounding out the council is the sorceress Sebile, assisted by Vivien and Nimue. Ostensibly, this council appoints a High King or Queen, but this has not happened since the death of the Knight Muldumarec and the loss of the The 4 Treasures of the Tuatha De Danann and the position has remained vacant.

Defences

Emain Ablach is constantly surrounded by a thick bank of Fairy-Fog, preventing most from entering it patrolled by the Sidhe fleet under the great admiral Manannan Mac Lir, who has the power to lift this fog to allow entry. Forced entry through the fog leads to the Faewylde, or traps the invaders inside an eternal limbo as Slaugh.   Ramparts, reinforced with wards, circle the island with several towers along the circuit. A large fortress complex sits atop a promontory on the Northeast shore.

Industry & Trade

The legendary workshops of Gobannus the smith, Credne the silversmith and Luchta the carpenter, the creators of the greatest treasures of the Tuatha de Danaan are located on the southern half of the island in an arts and industrial district, a picturesque village concealing a massive industrial operation beneath it. The skyships of the Tuatha de Danaan trade among the fairy islands and with other creatures of Faerie. Trade with mortals in Bedouar is usually done indirectly through the Goblin markets of the Re Vihan or on a much smaller scale.

Infrastructure

The nature of the self-cultivating agriculture of Emain Ablach has removed the need for many agricultural or industrial improvements. The island maintains a picturesque, pastoral look.

Assets

With seemingly-limitless resources, Emain Ablach is equipped to indefinitely sustain itself if besieged. The center of Sidhe craftsmanship, wondrous treasures and magikal artifacts are produced constantly and its coffers dwarf those of the wealthiest kingdoms of Bedouar.

Guilds and Factions

The council has split into 3 infighting factions. The Queens of Winter and Summer, with their strongholds elsewhere, are represented by their proxies, who constantly attempt to undermine the other. The third faction, representing the craftsmen and mages of the Tuatha de Danaan, is the weakest and seeks to bolster its position playing the others off each other.

Natural Resources

The island is notable for its rich agricultural resources. Magical golden and silver apples grow from the silver trees on Emain Ablach, giving the island its name. The fields and vineyards are self-cultivating. Grass on the island is lush and green, kept magically short by unseen forces.
