Meneziou Du

A narrow range of mountains running east-west from Kastellin to Menez Hom, known for its thick forests. It is located to the South of the Meneziou Are and the Kastellin Basin   The sacred mountain of Menez Hom is a great dome-shaped mountain located on the Western edge of the range. It was here that Gradlon, King of Kernev, became lost on a hunting trip, where he was rescued by the hermit aesthetic, St. Guenole. Menez Hom dominated both the city of Brest. It is considered one of the 6 sacred mountains of the Druidic Faith, the others being Karreg an Tan, Roc'h an Aoutrou, Roc'h Toulaeron, Menez Bre and Lead Mikael An Are. Menez Hom is sacred to the Tuatha de Danaan goddess Berc'hed (Brigid)   The town of Kastellin, built on a key crossroads of The Remusan Empire marks the Easternmost point. St. Guenole founded a monastery in the town, which has since fallen into ruin. Fortified by a castle, the town was also an outpost of the Urzh Kroashent (Knights of the Crossroads)

Geography

The Meneziou Du is a low and narrow mountain range running along a West-East axis, stretching from Douarnenez Bay in Kontelezh Kernev to the Oud River near Ker-Malastred in the Kontelezh Gwened. Its is located to the South of the Meneziou Are and the Kastellin Basin, North of the Kernev Plateau and the Landes be Lanvaux.   Unlike the barren, jagged landscape at the heights Meneziou Are, the slopes of the Meneziou Du are covered by a blanket of heavy forests. While its upper elevations are moors, swamps and bogs fill out the depressions. These areas under canopies so thick with vegetation that the sun barely reaches them give the mountains their name.   The peak of Karreg an Tan (fire rock) is the highest point, marked by a small keep on which a signal fire can be lit warning of bandit or Garwaf, which are both frequent in the region. A similar structure is located atop Menez Hom.

Packs of wolves dominate the Menez Du, including magical varieties such as Dire Wolves and Garwaf.
