The fall of the Remusan Empire and the Conquest of Albia by the Queens of Summer and Winter lead to a mass exodus of Albians to the remote Armorican Peninsula
After the Tearing of the Great Veil, the chaotic magik of Faerie rushed into Bedouar, remaking the world as it did. Forces of the Sidhe poured into the world in massive numbers, further threatening the stability of the crumbling Remusan Empire. On his deathbed in the Golden Sea, Emperor Valentinian I was succeeded by his two sons, Gratian and Valentinian II. Gratian began his rule well, resisting the Erlking's invasion from the Black Forest, drawing heavily from Remusan holdings in the relatively stable South and East and focusing the majority of his efforts on these regions. This alienated the Western Realms as the Queens of Summer and Winter pressed Southwards, largely unmolested by Imperial forces. Into this precarious situation stepped Magnus Maximus, the Great Usurper. Magnus was a skilled general of the Imperial army and governor of Albia, which would eventually become Kingdom of Logres. The Wyldstorms had ravaged Albia, forests growing up overnight and entire towns lost to the chaotic magik of Faerie. The Sidhe took advantage and raided constantly, even establishing permanent footholds in Bedouar, an unprecedented move. Angry at Imperial inaction, the Legions of Remus on the island rebelled. Magnus was declared emperor and with the aid of his local Albied ally, Conan Meriadoc sailed for Armorica, intent on marching on Remus and seizing the throne. Conan acted quickly, marching on the disorganized forces of the local governor, capturing and executing him in a swift, decisive action. This secured the northwest from Imperial reinforcements and allowed Magnus to march on Liyon, easily defeating Gratian's forces and assassinating the Emperor himself. As a reward for his service, Conan was made governor of the new province of Dumnonia (Later the County of Dreger), containing territory both in Albia and Armorica. Fearing that Faerie would spread to the continent and with Magnus's full support, Conan launched a brutal purge of magik, killing Milliget, suspected boemerezh, and any creatures of Faerie. At the death of Magnus, Conan declared himself King of Dumnonia. Imperial control in Armorica was finished. Conan, growing increasingly paranoid of Fae incursion, ordered the tongues be cut out of all women in the Kingdom, least they be used for Magik and the purging of Gnostic heretics. This period earned the Kingdom a grim moniker, Llydaw (half-silent). With a brutal campaign, Conan secured more territory in Armorica. Meanwhile, with Remusan troops and leadership vacant in Albia, Faerie continued unimpeded. Thousands of Milliget were created and entire regions were permanently lost to Faerie, including the North of Albia, Orkney and Emain Ablach. Upon his death, Conan divided his Kingdom between his two sons, Gadeon and Gradlon. Gadeon was given the territory in Albia, while Gradlon was granted Armorica.
