Starting in the Duchy of La Manche, a populist movement began around a shepherd, who claimed to have spoken to the Warrior, who directed him to form a Crusade to reclaim The Shatterlands. The movement, driven in part because of a series of harsh winterrules and economic hardships, as well as anti-Korrigan sentiments. The mob marched on Per-Ys to ask Gallian King Philippe "le Fortuné" V to lead them. The King refused, and the mob responded by storming a prison to release those held within to join their march. The mob headed South through the Duchy of Akitainia, attacking castles, towns, priests, royal officials and Korrigan. Violence in Divona, Albi and Tolosa were exceptionally egregious, leading to the excommunication of the crusade by the Archperfect of Avinhon. Crossing into the Kingdom of Navarre, the crusade was stopped after it carried out a massacre at a border-town. The leaders were arrested and executed, the movement dispersing.
