Draconati

On most worlds where Draconati can be natively found, such as Mundus Draconis, they were created in ancient times by draconic gods to bridge the gap between the bestial life of true dragons and the civilized life of humanoids.   As a Draconati character, you have the following traits:   Sphere Scores: Your initial Body score increases by 2 to reflect your strong and large build.   Natural Armor: You have natural armor due to your scales. Your unarmored AC is 16. Draconati are rarely seen wearing light or medium armors as they provide no benefit to them.   Tail Whip: Auxiliary Action. You swing your tail at your enemy. Hit rolls use your Strength modifier. Damage rolls use 1d6. At Strength 30, use 1d8. At Strength 60, 1d10. At Strength 100, 1d12. Costs 5 Stamina.   Natural Weapons: You can utilize your claws and teeth in combat. Your bite uses Strength to hit and does 1d6 + your Strength bonus damage. You can use your claws as an optional enhancement to an unarmed attack, adding an additional damage die per attack.   Draconic Lineage: Draconati genetics pass down traits such as scale color and breath type. The following table displays the most common color/breath combinations:
Black Acid
Blues Frost
Reds Fire
Greens Toxic
White Frost
This table is simply a guideline. You may mix and match colors and breath as you like, as your family tree may have all types of traits present, but only one breath type will have manifested as dominant in your body.   Breath Weapon: Primary Action. You exhale draconic breath at your enemy. The damage matches the type chosen in your lineage. You can choose to attack one enemy at a range up to 30ft, or use an area attack to target an enemy and any adjacent enemies at a range up to 15ft. Your allies can also be caught in this area attack. The damage you inflict is 2d6, increasing to 3d6 at Vitality 30, 4d6 at Vitality 60, and 5d8 at Vitality 100. Any creature caught in your attack must make a saving throw equal to 10 + your Vitality modifier. On a success they take half damage. Your breath attack costs you 20 Stamina. Damage Resistance: You are resistant to the same damage type as your breath attack, meaning you take half damage from that type.

Basic Information

Anatomy

An average draconati is significantly larger than a human, with females roughly matching the size of an average human male, and males averaging 6.5 feet, with some reaching heights over 8 feet. Both sexes are strongly built, are covered in thick scales, and have a powerful tail that has nearly the dexterity of a fourth limb. Males tend to have a hunch in their posture that hides their true height, while females tend to stand erect. Females do not have breasts, as newborn draconati are hatched from eggs and immediately begin consuming an adult diet. Singular males are referred to as draconato while singular females are called draconata.

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

On Mundus Draconis, draconati society is split into two distinct structures. The civilized Dracunum Nations form a global republic that encompasses nearly all of the planet's major cities and follows a largely uniform culture that rivals the most enlightened societies of other species. On the other hand, the wilder areas of the planet are home to numerous tribes that embrace a simpler lifestyle and enjoy closer proximity to their true dragon cousins. Many of the tribes vastly differ in culture and traditions, but no matter their culture, draconati as a species tend to value wisdom, honor, and merit.
