Recap

Current Day Night Water Cycle Day 3   mandatory cat Rowl aboard. Bertold (halfling, burly), Seabastion (triton, flirt), Barney (muscled half-elf who always seems to lose his shirt). person negoatiated with—Edma (human female)—is not the captain.   Captain Mael (Warlock of the Fiend) comes out from quarters as the ship sails straight to the heart of the whirlpool. Secretly a Tielfing, is trying to hold Alter Self (at will). Tall, but not necessarily muscular. Looks human with short black hair oiled down, deep brown eyes, warm and dangerous smile, dark skin. Tiefling form is deep indigo, horns lying flat and sweeping back along the scalp, eyes pools of black. Warlock of Graz'zt (rival demon lord of Korinth).   Korinth quivers excitidly at the presence of the captain.   Defend Mael as he closes the rift. His magic is strange, and with an arcana DC 10/15 recognized as what Kallista can do, / but his seems stronger and more focused, though volatile.

The Plan

If they want to talk to Captain Mael, he will try and get them to go away. He does not open the door. If they can persuade him, he'll crack open the door and will only allow Kallista in to talk to him. Didn't catch your name in all the chaos. He will ask how long she's had her patron demon (referring to Korinth). He'll be quite shocked that she doesn't actually have a pact with anyone. Mention it's quite incredible she can manipulate the magic of the amalgamation like that, and he's a bit bitter about it. Why can they manipulate it while others can't? Well, technically, others can, but it's really hard. These people are native to the world, so it's hard to grasp at magic outside your nature. But us two? Our hertiage is both here and the amalgamation. There's likely more than just rifts that can be controlled, though my... patron won't cough up the information. It was lovely meeting another soul like mine, and I hope our paths will cross again... unless you'd like to stay and learn from me?
Sil'Ferrous has a dream night 3. He finds himself in tunnels of script stone, floor to curved ceiling. The overall shape looks natural with maybe a little purposeful cutting, but not all of it. The stone is plastered in script etched into it. There's a faint blue glow at one end of the tunnel. Even if he doesn't follow it, it will loop back around. The script stone and etching on the walls suddenly stops at the end of the tunnel as it opens into a large oval-ish cavern. There are ivory pillars at intervals against the walls in here. The only floor is a slender ledge jutting over a small lake/large pond that makes up the rest of the cavern. Sitting at the end of the ledge facing away from you is man, seemingly in meditation. As you approach or call out to him, he will glance at you, then turn and stand. He looks human, maybe elf-ish? Hard to tell. He has loose barely kept silver hair, and a full-face silver beard. And not just "silver" like "oh he's old" (though he seems older, 50s? He carries himself well, but there's not a lot of physical wear on his face) but like shiny silver. He smiles and locks eyes with you. It's a kind smile, but his gaze is paralyzing. His eyes seem to pierce you, intense; pale blue, jagged irises rimmed with an almost pastel purple (like, white-purple). You wake with a jolt (if he tried to write anything), if not the man speaks. When he speaks, it's like there's a delay. His lips move but the sound takes an extra second to reverberate in your ears. When he finishes saying "than I" he closes his eyes, releasing you. And then you wake with a jolt.   He'll shock the first person he touches, or get shocked with the first metal he touches. Any one around him while he "dreams" will feel the static build up slightly in the air.   If Sil'Ferrous tries to write or copy anything while in the dream, he won't get what he thinks. There will be something in his notebook, written in script and not his handwriting.   "Hello, Sil'Ferrous. Interesting, to, in this way, meet you. Because of Vand, is it, think you? Expected, did I, to meet you all in flesh. But interfered, has Omdanne. To action faster, always, was she than I."
Water Cycle Day 4, Morning, arrive in Himmgulhavon.   The wharfs seem to be divided by class, and you've landed in the middling section. There are some disembarkment checks going on, everyone going to shore is getting stopped and checked.   So, they can try and sneak around (maybe with fucking misty step like last time?), or wait until nightfall where it would be easier to sneak. Or they can bluff their way past the amateur looking guards. They don't seem outfitted as expected, and more than 1 looks nervous.   Mael is recognized by one of the clerks, and it seems payment is being arranged, as well as coordination to unload their goods.   to the west are the poorer wharfs, where security seems more lax.   Last word on Kallista's sister was that she was heading with a squadron of Enforcers to Riner Ild. Valki, Kallsita's sister. about 5ish years younger than her (kallista's probably around 45ish?) and she's a little spontaneous and fiesty (I would assume that comes with being a tiefling.
Over at the West Wharf is where they will end up running into Rish and his companions. Yasmah would be all for having them join their expedition to Litsteivon, but they don't set sail for another 2 days. Rish has one last trade to finish and the buyer meets him tomorrow (Day 5) and the ship they've brokered passage on leaves on Day 6. Ivory is still meh on their presence, but Rish is unsettled still from them coming out of the rift before. Flynrich knows they are wanted and will arrange their arrest during night 4 (which won't occur until night 5).
sand and lithe female tabaxi (Flower of Ivory (Ivory)), tanned dark haired male elf (Rish), tanned skinny black haired male elf (Yasmah)(friendly towards them), and male halfling (Flynrich)
Who is Rish meeting with? Areon Thornfoot. Rish will not want to say, claiming his clientelle prefer descretion. Ivory or Yasmah would just shrug and say some quiet halfling in robes—similar to Atani's actually. Rish is trading a magic relic to Areon, who wants it to return to the Cloister; to Bevarelse.   What is this magic item? Adamantine Breastplate. While you're wearing it, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit. It's a dull steel color chest piece with the faintest indent of the unique script symbol that helps identify Blaest with a line above it and a line below it. It looks like that's been filled in with some metal. Also, there's a small section on the bottom where it looks like something has been written in blue. No, actually, that's where the steel paint has been scratched off by Rish. It's actually a breastplate made of script stone (bevarl stone). It's not very heavy, and it must at least 130 years old.   What's in the Western Quarter (Grit Corridors) for them to pass time? Very few wanted posters or Enforcers (actually, quite a lack of Enforcers overall; any guards seem to be volunteer citizens, retirees or Altruists). Help wanted poster for someone to come lift boxes. Help wanted posters near the east edges of the Grit Corridors asking for any herbalist or other healers to help at the hospitals and other care centers; paid. An Altruist handing out info-flyers to join their "dream" experiment in Sun's Reach.   *****Tavern. Name? No place for rooms, but can use an old building to stay in. Plenty of people do it. Just find one that's not already occupied.   food: sugared scorpions,   Block of Murals Hall of Stars Blacksmith's Row   Also, tons of nervous talk and rumors about the battles happening in Grewlheyde. Pulling all the Enforcers over there to battle some fell beast! You think it's a giant elemental? How could that happen? The Servitor was leading the charge, pushed back the monster all by himself! What are we going to do about my wife? She's still sick and there's only so much non-magic healers can do. Not to mention they're gouging prices now that they're nearly the only ones who can medic! I don't care if the magic is weird, if it saves my wife's life I'll pay for the parr's nausea treatment for the rest of their life. I heard the Grewl Pass was completely split! Now the lake has a second river. Do you think the Servitor is going to be able to lay all this rest soon? Of course! Well, I did hear that he's backed away from the fight; left a commander in charge.   Arrest attempt night of Water Cycle Day 5
