Both sides now show the same angular—and rather handsome—male face, smiling almost wickedly. The lashing was immensely difficult. Several times I thought I would die, drained of life while trying to summon and lash the creature—a demon—to the coin. I surely would have failed if not for having the demon's name. And that was possible because of Sheila. It seemed appropriate she at least get some credit, despite her crimes. Hence, the "lashed" and "lashings".
