Plot points/Scenes

Recap

In the dim light of the moon, the party stood at the lip of the caldera facing the Servitor. After a hot debate, the Servitor pulls his blade and sets his resolve to kill the party to stop them. Kilith, feeling the beat of Ild's heart quicken nearer to the caldera, pushes past the Servitor, jumps into the dark caldera, and disappears. The group fights with the Servitor as obsidian creaks and rumbles, and lava rises to the lip of the caldera. But it's not just lava that rises; a figure atop a slab of stone wakes to the scene of the battle.

The Plan

Current Day Early Night Water Cycle Day 10   Combat, probably, with the Servitor. Do not let up.   He seems to be falling further and further into fury, casting off his armor and unrelenting in his attacks.
There is a deep rumbling, shaking the earth beneath your feet. Red light grows quickly from the caldera. The stone around the obsidian skull and its gate cracks apart as the skull begins to rise. Around the caldera are similar cracks and rumbling as more obsidian bones begin rising. Heat coalesces, wind suddenly pulling it all into the area centered above the caldera. Ild's body begins to regenerate above them, lava that had been rising being sucked up into the air like a waterfall in reverse.   As the vertical pull of lava slows, Kilith wakes, rising up one of the many slabs of earth rising with the lava that begins to spill out over the lip of the caldera.   Kilith can feel the presence of chaotic forces, as well as their absences. He knows the location of Ild, and the general direction of any other living dragon. He is immune to fire damage, but vulnerable to cold.   Escape time!
Fire newts as possible adds that boil out of the caves they pass.   Lava touching would be equivalent to a fireball, 8d6 or 28 avg fire damage. Lava advances at 35ft/round.

I Need
  • escape mechanics; perhaps like some volcano fire emblem maps. perhaps we can bring back the idea of updrafts.
Valki, Kallista's sister. Conscripted into the Enforcers not too long ago while Kallista was gone. About 5-ish years younger than Kallista (kallista's probably around 45ish?) and she's a little spontaneous and fiesty. offspring of Graz'zt
If Sil'Ferrous uses his last eye ability, he'll witness the volcano actively spewing lava, bodies scattered about, and a figure leaning on the rocks near where he's standing; Vira, clearly injured with slashes and burns. She's mostly out of it, though trying to move toward a figure lying near the caldera; Zaru gravely injured and trying to rise. And standing near Zaru is a triton, hands raise and one grapsing a staff and holding a spell of a protective dome over a small area; Dolgos. In the distance is a huge shape approaching from the sky. Dolgos swears at Zaru "Come on, Zaru, get your ass up! Get up, get up, get up!" Zaru tries to lift himself but his bloody hand slips against the grit. Dolgos swears again as a roar tears through the sky. He drops his shield, closes his eyes in desperation, and releases an 8th level Magic Missile, 10 bolts of energy tinged red by the surrounding lava fly straight at dragon nearly there. Then he scrambles and drags Zaru across the ground getting closer to Vira, and then he slams his staff on the ground with an utterance and tehy vanish a split second before Ild's dying form crashes across the top of the volcano. And since this is the last charge, he will occaisionally see "ghosts" after this, especially with the Servitor now. He'll catch glimpses of Zaru without his armor and in more desert-stylewraps.   Despite your protections, the heat singes your throat as you breathe, and though there is an absences of ash it feels as though ash coats your mouth. The smell of molten metals hangs heavy in the air and the night is dark.   And standing about 40 ft away at the lip of the caldera is a figure at least one of them recognize. In fact, they all do as soon as they see the greenish glint of full plate with the bit of light you've brought. Servitor Zaru Kulden stands facing you, imposing despite the distance.   On closer inspection, there's a fresh slash on his jaw, and scratches on his armor. It looks like he's tried to clean up the armor, but smears of blood and grime still linger. His sword is still sheathed on his back and if he draws it, it will also show notches and wear and tear.
