The Lady of Life
In the beginning, there were only two ancient, lonely beings left to create and destroy across a vast, empty nothingness. One would create as they travelled through the void, leaving stars, planets, and galaxies in their wake. The other would follow these creations, seeking to find their cause, and in doing so, would bring about their very end. After countless aeons, the two would finally meet and recognise a kinship within one another, finding they were part of the intended cycle of this new universe as they decided to work together. Eventually, however, this work became stale and repetitive, creation was performed for creation's sake, and the inevitable end served no purpose. It is said that this is when the first souls were presented to the pair. Where these souls came from is unknown, not recorded in any scripture, but the two took on their new roles as gods of these new living creatures.
One took their name as the Lady of Life, and as she moulded these first souls a new world for them to inhabit, this world would become known as Amaltheon. The First, as they would eventually become known, were guided out of Glimmering Grotto into the land for the first time. Those who would emerge from the Glittering Grotto were known as Wanderer Souls, and she would help them transition to life upon Amaltheon with purpose and kindness. Wanderer souls were not limited to just humanoids, however, as the Lady of Life would welcome many beasts and even the first metallic dragons into the world. After some years had passed, the First began to pray to the Lady of Life and asked her for powers that they had once had in previous lives, which she saw fit to create for her children.
The Lady of Life would create the first of the Divine Realms, her domain, from which the inhabitants of Amaltheon could draw divine magic from, this would come to be known as the Dawnlight. From this realm, the Lady of Life would watch over her subjects and create different forms of life to watch over them, these would come to be known as the Celestials. In doing so, the Lady of Life inadvertently created the Upper Realms, a place where other gods' domains could be placed when they arise. She would welcome many other gods to her realms, some of whom would create divine domains of their own, others would simply rule from within existing domains, using their time and powers for other, more worthy ventures.
