The War of Four

Military: War

10203
10224

The war between the four generals that signifies the recorded founding of Tera'tun. The four fought and tried to take over one another's territory for over twenty years.

By the year 203 F.M. there were four main factions in the young country. There were the Bloody Lions of the East, the Polar Claw to the North, the Raven’s Wing in the West, and the Deer’s Horn to the South. A huge minotaur, Vatak Spinesplitter, lead the Bloody Lions and fought with a great axe too heavy for any but the strongest man to wield. He was sturdy and a warrior to the end, but was eventually burned to death during the Battle of the Woodland Sparks by Captain Lucas Wills. Captain Wills led the Raven’s Wing and fought using gorilla tactics, often attacking his foes in the dead of night. He preferred the long bow and a strong dagger to a straight fight. There was also the female tiefling known as Hell’s Blade, who led the Deer’s Horn and she fought with a long curved blade in each hand, held backwards so she could spin and slash her foes.   Finally there was the dwarf, Therim Bonehide, who led the Polar Claw and wielded a giant maul with curved hooks on it’s end that would carve his opponents in two.   The Battle of the Woodland Sparks was a pivotal battle, later made infamous, that took place in the Wild Woods between the Raven’s Wing and the Bloody Lions from Undat 10th to the 16th in 213 F.M. The 16th was the night of interest to most people, and a nationally held holiday to many, as a day of respect and sorrow for the loses endured. Wills and Spinesplitter had been battling through the forrest, which at the time stretched down to the very coast of Tera’tun.   Wills ended up withdrawing the majority of his forces onto his navel ships before setting the forest ablaze in an attempt to wipe out Spinesplitter and his forces. It worked, although it destroyed half the forest and left a burning stench that remained for decades.   To this day the Battle of the Woodland sparks is taught and Wills is held as a brilliant commander who committed an inexcusable act.   The three remaining leaders were forced to put their desires and pushes for power to an end when The Unending Night nearly ravished the country dry in 224 F.M.
