First Guardian of All Amnar

The First Guardian of All Amnar is a rank first established at the start of the Alliance Period, when The Five Nations and The One Hundred Thousand united against the devastating effects of The Rending. As chaos spread, those who had been affected and become Guardians, agreed that High Ashad Isha should take on a role equivalent to the Head of State. She was forced to leave Amin Duum Exclusion Zone in order to counteract the Rending at its root in Nas Ashca, but before she did so, she was able to ceremonially confir various roles upon the Anapashad and Caipashad Guardians to act in her stead.

History

The role of First Guardian is largely ceremonial in nature. It was established when the Guardians were first organised in the early Amnari Alliance period. The Guardians effectively evolved out of the organisational structures of The Five Nations and The One Hundred Thousand, but were very informal in the first few hundred years of the Amnari Alliance Period.   Effectively, Isha was named "First Guardian" once she was already embedded in her constant struggle with the Gaps that resulted from The Rending. Trapped in the continual fight to keep the Rending from re-opening the controlled Gaps and opening new Gaps, the rank reflected Isha's position at the heart of protecting reality, as well as channelling all the Kata, Ana, and Heka out into the other Exclusion Zones as a boost both to the other Guardians and their populations.

Cultural Significance

The role and rank has taken on an almost religious significance in Amnari culture. Isha is seen as the foundational example of how to behave and be in the world. This tends to be more related to Isha as a person rather than the rank, especially referencing her behaviour and choices before, during, and after The Rending War.
