Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Dear Tello, I write you as we're about to leave the training grounds and march south[...] Yesterday we got divided in 4 warbands of 40 men, and out of all the swords here in the north I really did end up with the savagest! [...] There is this beast of a man, Radoulf is his name, you'd be frightened to see him, and you ought to.[...]
Back to that Radoulf guy, he's quite tall, but that's quite common 'round here. He has black hair, long and badly cut around the face, I think he cut just enough hair to not be blinded.
But if I told you'd be scared by him it's not only because he's tall, he's also as ugly as a shattered stone. But you wouldn't want to start bantering him, I assure you.
Whenever someone calls or addresses him, he turns around and, were we not the bravest swords of the north, we'd piss ourselves. His face has plenty of small scars I dare not to ask about, and only the One knows how many are covered by his thick grizzled beard.
He has unsettling light eyes, and he always looks at things as a rabid wolf.
His clear northern accent, fair skin, thick fur and grotesque deep voice has made us all think that he might even be related to an Ibexen or other savages of that sort.
[...] oh, and he [is] strong, the strongest of the bunch, he once lifted a trunk by himself without breaking a sweat.

Personal history
Dear brother, I won't blame you for worrying, I know it's been more than a month since I last wrote you, but I assure you it is not out of negligence. It is not much, but I think your highness should ask his friends in Pregaire to look for him in the archives for confirmation.
A month ago our bands had left the path to reach the army to a camp near the Rham hills when a storm assaulted our formation, and you may have no idea how terrifying can be a gale when you have no shelter to take.
I must have fell a dozen of times, and many got it worse than me...
When it all ended my band had separated from the others, and we were missing seven men [...] We had no idea of where we should have been, but the commander, Dael, insisted to go straight south until we met the army, through a thick wood with no path.
You can imagine our enthusiasm.
Remember that Radoulf pal? Well, I had the occasion to get closer to him, and at the end it was just the two of us...
It got really bad when they started raiding our camp and ambushing us. For "they" I mean some armed men whose identity we still don't know. You know I am a valuable fighter, but the terror which pervaded me during the first attacks is unspeakable.
[...] After our night camp had been robbed during the night, we got attacked, and many started fleeing in the wood; we never saw 'em again.
I admit I was tempted to follow them, the commander had just been hit by an arrow, but Radoulf grabbed me by the mail and threw me behind him. He proved to be exactly what he seemed: a terrific (and terrifying) warrior.
He was the only one to take down an aggressor during that first ambush, and that was enough to incourage those cowards to abandon the assault.
We had suffered greatly from the ambush, many were injured by the hail of arrows, and many other had deserted. It was only me, Radoulf, the injured commander and another ten swords, 4 of which had been more or less injured.
[...]
And as time passed, I became the one he trusted and I dare to say we have become friends, I've discovered he's from Pregaire (which explain his accent), but he is actually of andone descent. His family has served in the Qhaste's militia for three generations, but, as you may not know, the militia has been disbanded for more than 10 years. Thus Radoulf has become a mercenary, such as me, but he begun much earlier to fight in real battles.
He served under the Qhaste banner during the Eastern Troubles when he was just seventeen, I was already swinging my sword at seventeen, yes, but going to war is a different thing I assure you.
For reasons he won't tell me he wasn't accepted into the the Holy Armed Forces, yet he still donated most of his earnings gained during the war to the Qhaste.[...]
He told me a lot of stories of the war, and we did enjoy telling epic stories in the evening, but I think he overall has mostly bad memories; his father died of bronchitis there, fighting against his ancestor's people.
We looked out for each other for the last month, and we survived, I'd say we make a good pair of swords and we'll stick together even now that we reached the "Marching Baron's Army".
Soon we'll fight the Perdicean, but if I survived that wood, open battles don't scare me as much.
Take care of mother, Randra and the children.Symann
Personally I think this is our man. Soldier Symann is either dead or back in Odria, we should seek him out too.

Morality & Philosophy
[...] He is a firm believer, I thought it was just a stereotype for people born in Pregaire, but he really is a zealot.
It's something we can barely talk about for how firm his beliefs are.
He keeps repeating that he is a divisive oddity, an obstacle to unity whose only hope of redemption is to stop other divisive oddity from spreading and then dying.
I pity him, but he really believes it and doesn't make this sufferance really apparent.

This is probably one of the best character templates I've seen yet. He reminds me of Logen Ninefingers from the First Law Trilogy.
Thank you so much! It's really heartwarming to be encouraged so early. Unfortunately I am not familiar with the Fist Law trilogy, but after quickly looking it up, I can see the resemblance. I will keep updating these articles, thanks again for the support
