Qhaste of Pressoir

Blessed by and through the heavens, the chosen people shall unite the world and make the land the same as the sky: One and Homogeneous
— Divine Decree, by Blessed Divine Laivel II ( 330 OA- 342 OA )

The righteous is him whom who acts and lives by and for the One
— Holy Motto, anonymous

Structure

-The Blessed Divine (first voice of the faithful and head of the Pressoir Divinate) Seated in Pregair   -High Declarers (the oldest, wisest, wealthier Divines who elect the Blessed Divine and give him council.)- Seated in Pregaire and all the capitals of the faithful kingdoms   -Divine Declarers (priests who perform and report the declarations of the Blessed Divine. They also manage the Qhaste business and temples locally )-Locally appointed   -Blessed Faithfuls (volunteers at the service of the Qhaste who may perform many tasks, from building the temples to protecting the faithfuls)

Public Agenda

The Qhaste aims at the unification of the world under a single counsciousness. It sees unity and conformity of mankind as its first and most holy goal.
They encourage a constant war against the infidels, waged in the north, against the savage tribes, directly by the Divinate of Pressoir
The State of Pressoir seeks a balance between being independent from Odria while keeping close contact with the state and nobility.

History

The religion is much more ancient than Odria, but the Qhaste was invented from scratch during the Reign of Odacles I "The Builder".   The State of Pressoir was granted to the Qhaste after the "Terrible Occupation" (640-690 OA) ended by Hudwin of Ghaulle.

Demography and Population

Pressoir counts as many as 160'000 inhabitants. Most of the population is concentrated in the capital and the Odrisian border

Territories

Pressoir consist in a small region of north Odria given to the Qhaste who enlarged it by conquering land from the savage Oxmen

Military

The Holy Armed Forces were once composed of fanatic and pioneers who wanted to expand the faith northwards with the force. Blessed Divine Alquino III however transformed them in an efficient standing army and formed the Blessed Militias with the expelled fanatics to keep internal order inside Pressoir and the other kingdoms as well

Foreign Relations

The state of Pressoir is legally, politically and militarily bounded to Odria and the inhabitants are almost indistinguishable from north-Odresians. But the Qhaste is independent from any king making Pressoir an half-vassal of Odria     The Qhaste has sided with the prince of Otrenzia in the "Eastern Troubles"

Agriculture & Industry

Agriculture is rather poor in most Pressoir because of the lack of sunlight most of the year. Roots and tubers are the only native agricultural products. Large quantities of wheat are imported from Odria in order to produce enough food for the state

Divine Origins

men have prayed to the One as long as they have prayed the tribal gods, meaning that the One may have been prayed to even before men arrival on Amèria

Cosmological Views

The world was One, but a cataclysm has made it shatter is three parts: Sky Sea and Land.   Sky is the third which mostly resembles the unity of the One, and everything we see in it (like the Sun and stars) is only the reflection of our individualistic ego and our incapacity to witness perfection.   Sea is halfway through it's unification as it appears united but down under is still shattered in many pieces.   Land is the most shattered third of the three, and only when all the life forms are united under one law and one religion it might get closer to the Sky.

Tenets of Faith

The general rule is to listen and obey the Divine Decrees of the Qhaste and to follow the law. The religion encourage stability, a life of servitude and the abandonment of every individual desire. A faithful should always see himself as part of something, a man which doesn't fit his position is seen as a divisive individual, an enemy of unity

Ethics

A faithful should always see himself as part of something, a man which doesn't fit his position is seen as a divisive individual, an enemy of unity. Thus a man who follows the law and the Qhaste, who lives by and for his social status, who works for the greater good and serenely sacrifices his happiness or even life for it may join the One after death.

Worship

Praying to the One is done individually whenever one wants and collectively at the performing of the Divine Declarations ( phrases, quotes and commands said by Divines that defines the direction of the faithfuls)

Priesthood

The lower clergy is highly militant as conversion of the masses is critically important to the achievement of unity.
The higher clergy instead focuses more on the bureocratic administration of the Qhaste and of the Kingdom

Political Influence & Intrigue

The Qhaste has a long history of bureaucratic, diplomatic and military experience thus making an enormous pillar of western society and politics.
