Ramius
Stern Lord Ramius
Child of Erecura , Ramius was once the Cupbearer to the Gods. With his Silver Ladle he poured Life's Blood into the veins of every newborn creature, infusing it with vital force and bringing it to life.
By Uzhul's blade, his mother perished, first of the Sovereigns to leave their incarnations behind. In the wake of Erecura’s death little thought was given to Ramius, left to his own devices while others struggled to deal with the infernal hordes rampaging across the Mortal World.
His years of loyal service imbued Ramius with a greater and deeper understanding of the Four Kingdoms than any thought possible. Without consulting the Elemental Sovereigns, he found the Emerald Tablets upon which the laws of existence were writ. By his own hand he changed them, altering the Underworld forever.
Instead of simply allowing the souls of the dead to pass through, now they would dwell there before proceeding to their final fate. At the borders of the Mortal World, a new domain would bar the living and the dead from crossing over. And beneath this land of the dead, above the Elemental Wells, a realm of torment and imprisonment would drag the Fiends and Infernals from the Mortal World, subjecting them to the wrath and judgement of the new ruler of the Underworld: Ramius Himself, the Stern Lord, The Judge of the Dead.
