Elpis

T Elpis is a G-class star and the focal star of the entire Elpis System. The rapid rotation rate of this star suggests a young age, perhaps only several million years old, though there is debate on this fact, as it is believed impossible for a star so young to harbour so many life-bearing planets.
Nevertheless, the system around Tau Elpis is now the sanctuary of the survivors of the Embassy Ark. It forms part of a wider ternary star system, with Nyx and Hepera orbiting it from a far distance.
Elpis is notable for its starspots which form at most latitudes of the star, as well as for its variance in its orbital period, presumably due to the starspots.
