Glasten Broadbottom

Glasten, of the Broadbottom family of Burford is the current Sheriff of Bur Riding and has been for the last twenty-seven years.  
He exhibits the normal cheerful demeanour of the halflings, despite the weight of his role.  This makes him an effective sheriff, as least as regards tax collection - he is regarded as pretty fair, relatively un-corrupt, and it is more pleasant to be mugged by someone who is smiling while they do it.
The Broadbottom family is one of the wealthiest and most respectable of families of Burford, occupying a large smial in the centre of the village.
