Mantos: Weeping Death

Despite being the realm of death, Mantos isn't as nearly lifeless as many would think it would be. With four distinct sections to the continent, different followers of Kelemvor experience different aspects of the realm of death.   Outside of priests of Kelemvor, Mantos is the only continent of the six that doesn't actively send their goods out of their continent. Instead their form of trade brings the other five to them. The followers of Kelemvor offer burial services, safe passage through death, and the famous Day of the Dead celebrations that even the most callous of hearts can't turn down.   The Valley of Death being a red clay desert the runs through the heart of Mantos. On either side of the canyon near the top of the ravine rests a set of spirit stones that run the length of the canyon. Stones that are used to help guide the dead back to the world of the living on the Day of the Dead celebration, a chance for those who have lost a loved one to see them briefly again. On the other sides of the stones run the thick wooded Weeping Forest, a forest populated exclusively with the weeping willow tree. Making navigating the forest difficult if being lead by sight.   However, the most impressive aspect of Mantos is not the celebration nor the forest but instead it's capital Bas. A massive catacomb that runs the length of Mantos below it's surface. A place where all of the dead who were faithful to one of the six gods are buried and allowed to come back and visit their loved ones on the fabled Day of the Dead celebration. The celebration and the opportunity to see a lost loved one being strong enough to vacate the need of any kind of supplies to come out of Mantos.
