Sinroa the Liberator
Trickster god of artisans, humor, knowledge, magic, stories, and wisdom
Sinroa is the draconic god of gem dragons, learning, magic and freedom. Known as the Diamond Dragon by gem dragonkin worldwide, Sinroa seems to enjoy rarely appearing as one. He prefers to appear as an enormous purple Chinese dragon with a white mane and spines
When the first dragons arrived in Anathra hundreds of thousands of years ago, Sinroa was just one of many draconic gods worshipped by those first dragons and their armies of human, elven, and orc slaves. In the course of time, most of the other draconic gods have been forgotten, leaving only Sinroa, Kenrin the Platinum Dragon, and Othloa the Many-Headed.
During the Age of the Five Emperors, worshippers of Sinroa were persecuted and driven underground. These Sinroans would later become one of the backbones of the resistance during the Thousand-Year Uprising and the Last Rebellion. It was during this time that Sinroa was first called The Liberator.
When the Death Curse of 1207 A.C. arrived, the rich and powerful -- those who could afford resurrection magic -- began to wither and die out. This caused chaos as un-trained lesser nobility and ill-prepared midlevel clerics found themselves in charge. The resulting crisis of authority spawned many movements both religious and secular. In the chaos of those months, the clerics of Sinroa began offering a solution: democracy. Why have Kings, High Priests, and Incantors? Why not let the people decide who should rule them? This made Sinroan priests increasingly unwelcome in those kingdoms stable enough to pay attention to them.
