Demi Plames

Demiplanes are small extra-dimensional spaces with their own unique rules. They are pieces of reality that don't seem to fit anywhere else. They come into being by a variety of means. Some are created by spells, such as demiplane. They may also exist naturally, ripples or folds pinched off from the rest of reality, or as a baby universe that is growing in power. A given demiplane can be entered through a single point where it touches another plane. Like all other planes of existence, they are essentially cut off from all other planes except by that single entry point.
Depending on how they are created, some demiplanes may also have specific rules that further restrict who may enter and how.

Demiplanes of Dread

An uncommon sub-set of demiplanes are known as Dread Demiplanes, or Demiplanes of Dread. The word "dread" in this case uses the uncommon definition of the word: "to hold in awe or reverence." They are so named because they are created at the will of a powerful force such as a God or, more commonly, a Quasi-God. These demiplanes are unique in that all souls that exist within them are trapped and, should they die, will be reincarnated back into the demiplane.
