Humans have been compared at times to a magical wildfire. They spread across the land quickly and effortlessly, but without demolishing everything in their path. They are a resilient people known for the ability to bond with and understand a variety of creatures.
They are, for our sake, the template with which the rest of the world is compared to, although on Eden they are the youngest of the races. With the exception of history, culture, and statblocks, humans are the same as on Earth.
Additional Information
There are humans on every continent of the planet, but the majority of them live on Darsi, Ditea, and Dost.
Civilization and Culture
Gender roles are not as strictly defined as on Earth. Many societies have more than two genders.
Most human cultures value having one or two partners that you are dedicated to for life. Very few value having more than two partners, and very few value having a partner you are not loyal to for life. There are exceptions.
Most human cultures have a taboo around nudity.
Human history goes back approximately 3,000 years. Their evolution was likely jump-started by the ambient magical energy of the plane, and the supposed mass migration of the elves from the Feywild into the Material Plane. Their ancestral homeland seems to be either Darsi or Dost, as that is where a majority of their population is concentrated.
Humans moved quickly across the two continents, and as time went on began to expand further. They first met orcs on Damar, and quickly began to spread across that continent. About a quarter of the continent had already been overtaken by dwarves, and within centuries orcs were pushed to inhabit merely half of their own ancestral homeland. From there, humans spread further to other continents. They took easily to the magic that escaped mastery by dwarves and halflings, though not nearly as easily as elves.
It is only within the past thousand years that humans have started to establish real global powers. For the most part, they have integrated themselves into the affairs of other species.
Due to humans contributing largely to their losing a majority of their homeland, orcs historically do not get along with or like humans. For a very similar reason, halflings don't care for humans either.
Humans have a very strong diplomatic history with dwarves.
