Recap
Winter's Third Turning, Third Moon
The Omens prepared themselves to travel out into the wilds of the Winter Court in search of their missing magician while Caspian read a romance novel at the head of the breakfast table. Mathing it out, they have just enough time to visit all three crash sites and return to the manor in time for Caspian to bring them to the Turning Gala.Housekeeping note: The next full moon is in 11 days, not 23. A Turning is based on the moon cycles, so a full Turning would put the full moon in the middle of the month, not the end.
After spending a day trekking through the snow, an encounter with remorhaz, and a series of strange, tiny mushrooms that seem to have little men in their root systems, the Omens found an ancient ruin marked with three rising stars (as Andy called them) above the entrance. Fighting a mimic, a stone golem, and quickling welcoming party, the group pushed deeper in, finding evidence of Redcap residence and a bloodstained chicken named Betsie.
The group ran into a slight problem encountering the bheur hag that called this ruin home. She made them a deal that if they were to help her out with a problem she had, she would let their waifish man go free.
Fortunately, the problem happened to involve the stars. Matching a set of constellations to their starry form, Andy solved the puzzle and earned a crown and a vision out of the deal. In the vision, the same foggy figure lead them through a landscape, though this one was full of plants and animals that were alive, and as the stars above winked out so too did the sounds of nature around them. Attempting to catch up with the smoking figure bore no fruit as it had in the past, though Andy could hear a definite tune being hummed as they walked along.
This time, Andy saw great cities collapse and fall during the vision, and saw the great purple Nexus at the cataclysm's center. Then the vision snapped to a close, and three statues tried to kill the Omens (unsuccessfully).
But, when the hag confronted them, the statues did manage to kill the hag. Following which, the redcaps scattered through the dungeon began to turn on each other, outside of the hag's influence, and resolved that issue for the Omens. Returning to the jail cells, they let out a man called the Legendary Legerdemain (friends call him Faust, enemies call him Chorus, lovers call him Horatio), who told them a story about the moon of all things while they tried to rest, and Andy took the starry frieze from the entrance. Ledge left in the middle of the night.Rewards Granted
