Holtz Fennebrau

Holtz (usually called Holt since the z is somewhat silent), is a citizen of Waterdeep. He was born to a lower-class family who were relatively poor and already had a few kids to feed. To solve this problem, they sent him to Gostantin Miguel Domingos at the age of 5. Gostantin saw that Holtz had magical potential and sent him to the Mordai Academy. There, in exchange for doing tasks and following basic orders, he got a basic education, food and housing. Holt was deemed sufficiently clever and in tune with the arcane to flow into the Arcanely Gifted Education Program. There he proliferated as a pretty good student, albeit a bit of an unruly one. He enjoys reading a ton, especially more exotic and obscure tomes, but dislikes actually following lectures.
As most other college goers/wizardry students were sort of posh, he did not like mingling with them, preferring to be alone in the library or with the janitors/cooks/... that maintained the buildings.

Motivation

• Aquiring wealth: Coming from a rather poor family, he's been pretty fascinated with money. He looks to aquire large amounts of it, also to buy rare tomes/spell scrolls/... with

• Obtaining rare tomes/forbidden knowledge/...: Holtz has a thing for rare books (adrenaline fuel to him). It exites him to read and he will generally give up a lot to obtain them.

• Becoming an Archmage and getting in higher circles: aquiring access to the most secred/sacred/... of places requires a bit of fame and power, this seems like an "easy" way to do so.

• Finding himself some loyal protectors who can "pave the way" for Holtz' greatness: Holtz dislikes most kinds of direct violence/getting his hands dirty. He prefers to show off his cleverness to solve any kind of problem.

Holtz is still young and rather naïve, not quite realising that his actions have real world consequences. He also doesn't realise how evil the world can be, the worst thing he has had to deal with being mean kids in the Academy.
