The cloud city of Osah
Once, long ago, a group of researchers wanted to turn golems in to flying creatures. After a lot of research, they created a spell: Zwevius Wingardium Leviosa. To perform the ritual to cast the spell, slivers of a very rare, blueish, metal were needed. The ore for this kind of metal could only be found in the cloud city of Osah, a flying city that was inhabited by Wölken Giganten. The Wölken Giganten didn't want to have any contact with the rest of the world, so the researchers made their way up to the flying city themselves by magical means.
When they arrived, they were immediately halted by a group of Giganten, who told them they would kill them if they didn't leave. The leader of the researchers, Moretus, managed to deceive the Giganten, telling them that the city of Osah would plummet down if they wouldn't let the researchers mine the ore for the metal and cast the Leviosa spell. The Giganten believed him and let the researchers mine the ore. After returning from the cloud city, the researchers melted the ore into metal, and used this to cast the Leviosa spell on a golem. It worked, and created what we now call a gargoyle. To this day, gargoyles are created by this same method.
