Basic Information

Anatomy

This rather small lizard-like folk is bipedal and covered by a scaly hide. Their long tail is stiff and they have clawed hands and feet.

Biological Traits

Being at the bottom of the hierarchy of the 'Scaled Continent' folk, 'Small Lizard Folk' are weak, but fast.
Breath Attack Some individuals have breath attacks similar to dragons. As a result they often claim to be descended from them.
Magic When magic first started to return to Andraous, the 'Small Lizard Folk' showed little promise in being able to access it. However recently more and more hatchlings are being born with the ability to use magic.

Lays eggs.

Ecology and Habitats

Found in a variety of different habitats, they are mostly located in forests, swamps, and wetlands. Sharing much of their habitat with the 'Large Lizard Folk'; that they compete with for resources, and the Nagas; that typically try and eat them, 'Small Lizard Folk' go to extremes to survive.
They live in claustrophobic, underground warrens whose entrances are hidden by overgrown trees and brush. Early morning and late evening is the only time they'll leave their warrens, which i when they forage, and patrol their territory for signs of threats. Their territory is often littered with traps and warning devices.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Capable of eating a wide variety of food stuff, they tend to lean more towards a carnivorous diet.

Social Structure

Up to 300 individuals live in tribes, ruled by the elders. They manage the tribes from distributing chores to settling disputes.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

'Small Lizard Folk' are popular slaves on the 'Scaled Continent', and are kept to preform household chores. They are often only fed dinner scraps and treated poorly.

Facial characteristics

They have strong jaws filled with small, sharp teeth.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Battle 'Small Lizard Folk' avoid direct combat at all costs, due to their history of being easily overpowered by their bigger foes. Instead they try to set up situations that will tip in their favor, using ambushes, traps, and other sorts of trickery.
Domestic Beasts They are constantly trying to domestic any new beasts that they believe can give them an advantage.

Religion Some tribes worship dragons.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

General After generations of being hunted and enslaved, 'Small Lizard Folk' have come to despise folk larger than themselves, and resent those as smaller or smaller than themselves. They will avoid larger folk whenever they can, but will submit to them if it means survival. If they come across small folk, they will attempt to enslave them so they can torment and humiliate them.
Oophagas Jealous of the Oophagas relatively worry free lifestyles despite being small and weak, 'Small Lizard Folk' originally avoided their amphibious neighbors. Recently however, they have begun hunting or enslaving them in order to use their poisonous skin secretions to make their weapons more deadly.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Scales of green and red are common among the 'Small lizard folk', but aren't the only colors. Black, yellow, orange, purple, blue, white, gray, etc have also popped up from time to time. In many tribes, these rare color individuals are given special status from the moment they hatch.
