How the Nagas Got Their Venom

Summary

Originally the Nagas had no venom and instead had to rely on brute strength to capture prey. Those that were weak often starved, however one young Naga was cunning and was able to catch prey despite being physically weak.   One day the young Naga came across a few Oophagas that were trapped in a tree due to a very angry beast. The young Naga decided to help the Oophagas and hatched a plan.   They found two large leaves and quickly painted a large eye on each one. Once these were completed, the Naga quickly snuck up behind the tree that the Oophagas were in, and waited for the perfect moment. When the beast went to charge at the tree again, the Naga quickly stuck both leaves out from either side of the tree. Suddenly being confronted by what appeared to be two massive eyes, the beast backpedaled, and fled the area.   To thank the young Naga for rescuing them, the Oophagas gave them some of their highly toxic skin secretions and put the toxins in the fangs. This way so long as the Naga could bite it's prey, it would be able to catch it.

Cultural Reception

To this day Nagas will refuse to hurt Oophagas and will rush to their aid if need be.
