Chauntea

Chauntea is the goddess of life and bounty, who viewed herself as the embodiment of all things agrarian. The Earthmother was seen as the tamer parallel of Silvanus, the Forest Father of druidry and wilderness, as she was the deity of agriculture and plant cultivation.   Before the Dawn War Chauntea was said to have seeded the earth in preparation for mortals. Chauntea alongside Arawai showed young mortals how to grow crops and domesticate animals.   Chauntea worked tirelessly throughout the course of the Dawn War to feed the gods.   During the War of Winter, Bane and Zehir made a pact to salt the earth and poison the soil so nothing could grow should they lose the war. Chauntea worked together with Melora, Silvanus, and @Arawai to stop this plot by Bane and Zehir. The Anauroch Desert is the scar that is left by this plot.   After the Primal Mythal, Chauntea worked to helped rebuild the Agricultural infastructure of the material plane. As society rebuilt itself, Chauntea was recognized for her help in renewing agricultural practices all over.

Tenets of Faith

Chauntea encourges her followers:
  • Growing and reaping are part of the eternal cycle and the most natural part of life. Destruction for is own sake and leveling without rebuilding are anathema.
  • Let no day pass in which you have not helped a living thing flourish. Nurture, tend, and plant wherever possible.
  • Protect trees and plants, and save their seeds so that what is destroyed can be replaced.
