A Doomed World
Antediluvia has already suffered a cataclysmic apocalypse,
The Flood. With the entire
Artificial World submerged by a torrent of water pouring from a crack into the
Water World, only those fortunate to escape into
Feyworld or the
Underworld and the inhabitants of the already aquatic
Maru Base survived.
Hope from the Depths
Thoth, the leader of the
Maru Base survivors, rallied the remaining crew behind one final hope: a device called a Manifestation Drive, designed to channel the energy of
El spirits from the
Astral World, guided by the will of the mortal minds within the same world as the drive.
Thoth's calculations indicated such a device should be capable of a sort-of time travel by manifesting the past world into existence again.
Unfortunately,
Thoth had barely finished the design and hadn't started building it because it required parts from other worlds, chiefly a Resonance Crystal attuned to each of the 8 worlds and an Ylum Siphon from Hel.
Thoth and the other crew called in favors to obtain them. Over the next two months, the crew busily constructed the Manifestation Drive and the
Kairos, the vessel that would contain the Drive.
An's Last Laugh
As the
Kairos was nearing completion,
Gip-El, a
Nephilim double-agent working for
Thoth, arrived with a warning: the
An-El had discovered the location of
Maru Base and were on the way to eliminate the survivors. An emergency evacuation began, packing as many people as could fit onto the
Kairos.
Gip-El is implanted by
Thoth and
Aachee with the Security Implant. As the three race to the
Kairos amidst the frantic evaluation, the
An-El arrive, breaching the hull of
Maru Base and letting
The Flood in.
Thoth's Sacrifice
Thoth utilizes Control Water to part a tunnel for
Gip-El and
Aachee to pass through.
Gip-El triggers a lockdown, which will seal the Cargo Bay in 6 seconds. The
An-El are within range, and two
Nephilim, a Uraeus, and an Ophanim make it onboard.
Thoth tosses
Aachee into the
Kairos and casts Wall of Force to block anyone else from entering, losing concentration on Control Water.
Aachee and
Gip-El watch
The Flood crush
Thoth as the Cargo Bay door seals.
Eyeris rushes the eight most essential crew members into stasis, including the Archivist, Alaria, who takes
Thoth's pod, and activates the Manifestation Drive. Due to the chaotic unfocused wills of the evacuated survivors and the influence of the
Nephilim and
An-El onboard the
Kairos, the Manifestation Drive fails to reconcile a desired outcome and strands the
Kairos in an empty liminal space, critically damaged and warped.
What's Going On?
Eyeris surveys the ship using her Magic Mouth detectors, finding herself unable to see, hear, or communicate outside the ship. She detects multiple unidentifiable anomalies inside the ship, almost all systems are damaged and non-functional including life support.
Eyeris tries to wake
Aachee, now captain in absence of
Thoth, but he won't wake up, so she wakes
Allen, the Lead Engineer, instead.
Allen manages to activate the backup generator and wake the rest of the crew, even
Aachee, last of all. It quickly becomes clear to an increasingly dismayed crew and
Eyeris that the whole crew has amnesia, recalling no personal memories of their lives before waking up. Thus begins their adventure....
