Avorene

Avorene is one of the three superpowers of Phoebe, a place known for its totalitarian rule and tyrannical boy-king.

Territories

What's a defining feature of Avorene is their lack of a navy, instead opting to control the massive continent of Glestan by way of conquest. So far they've succeeded, defeating the other countries and absorbing them into the larger Avorene society, essentailly assimilating them into another part of Avorene.
Something notable about Glestan is it has several islands off the coast, all technically flying the Avorene banner. However, due to the lack of an Avorian navy, these islands are gifts, either by way of mercenaries or the inhabitants looking for safety. The King however refuses to acknowledge any of them as sovereign Avorian territories; some think this is to protect the image of Avorene because if anyone were to ever attack the islands, the Avorian army would have no way to defend them.

Military

The military of Avorene is formidable, large due to its mandatory service laws requiring all those able of the age sixteen are required to serve for a minimum of four years. However Avorene's military does not have a standing navy, though due to the landmass of Glestan it hardly leaves Avorene vulnerable.
