Rekkr
The Rekkr is a group of warrior males particular to The Reach. A loose alliance of tribal fighters, they are loyal to their clan, the Rekkr, and The Reach; in that order.
Structure
A loosely structured alliance of clans with leadership granted to those proven in battle. These majority of these north men wear hide, padded, or leather, with leaders and officers having bits of chain, plate, or bone, with about half of the force bearing shields. Their weapon of choice is a throwing axe that they use before closing, then maul, spear, and great axe for melee.
Public Agenda
They are tasked with protecting The Reach and enforcing its laws.
History
Founded when the Kith-El settled the region and mingled with the mountain peoples, the Rekkr continues to be a skilled force of fighting men. They are crippled by the eclectic nature of the legislature in The Reach. Not wanting to offend anyone, Ba'al Poul Barhan tries to accommodate the various needs of the many tribes that comprise the populace, so laws are complicated, extensive, and in many cases, nonsensical.
