Predicting Earthquakes

In Blacksite ⧣2369, Syreni believe that they can predict a comming Submarine Earthquake by observing the behaviour of the residential predators. Because earthquakes are of no significance to the lives of most Syreni, thanks to their buildings being constructed to survive these natural disasters, this believe isn't widespread and hardly ever talked about.
But earthquakes do have a role in some ritualistic practices and many a spiritual Syreni of the older generations will tell you, that earthquakes are not just natural disasters but a foreboding sign of future societal upheaval and great change. They are able to foresee a submarine earthquake, or so they believe, by observing the behaviour of predators. They start to sense unrest amongst these preadators which makes them act more violently and attack settlements relentlessly. This happens in a flurry before many of them start to emigrate of the plane and away from too much ground and stone and into the deep waters where they will be safe from harm.
This all seems very reasonable but the problem in predicting a submarine earthquake through such means is that these behaviours are only barely noticable. Only a small percentage of predators seem to sense anything and act in accordance to spiritual Syreni's predictions. And these Syreni often use common spiritual practices along with observing predators to let them make sense of their findings and these spiritual practices are of course all highly unscientific.
This believe is most commonly found amongst Syreni who are afflicted by the Blackness and have made their home in the Blacksite #2369 Cavesystem which is very susceptible to submarine earthquakes and therefore, the prediction of them would be of more importance to them, to start making preparations and keep the cavesystem from crumbling over their heads.
