Aeyar, The Summoned Spark
Aeyar, The Summoned Spark, is the god of magic and arcane study - and considered to be one of the most intelligent beings in the multiverse. He is the eldest son of Caedalin, The Artist and Luthena, The Imagined Maiden.
Many mistakenly believe that Aeyar is the creator of the magic that manifests throughout Aorna, but that is far from the truth. Magic is the result of Aorna's inception, when the Wellspring and the Shade collided to form the material plane. The creationary and destructive forces commanded by wizards, sorcerers, warlocks, and other magic users are the direct result of these collisions. Aeyar simply studies the arcane, wielding magic with expert skill and knowledge, though he would be the first to admit that even he does not understand the full extent of its capabilities.
Still, Aeyar has proven himself to be incredibly powerful - with access to abilities beyond anything even the most learned wizard could aspire to. He is believed to have used his connection with the Wellspring to give Seshare, The Breath of Law, his mighty draconic abilities. In this way, every dragon owes a debt of gratitude to Aeyar. He was also able to construct an entirely new plane of existence, The Blood Pasture, to imprison Rach, The Bloody Ground.
Despite this, Aeyar is considered humble for a god, constantly seeking to challenge himself and push further into the unknown. This has occasionally gotten him into trouble, as he is not afraid to go beyond what his brethren would consider acceptable. In fact, the more dangerous his studies, the more alluring they are to him. This often reckless curiosity, combined with his raw power, has led to Aeyar being feared by many of the other gods, who worry that he will one day take one step too far, creating a cataclysm they will not be able to repair - for it is beyond their knowledge.
Aeyar's love affair with Qomos, The Open Book is considered one of the most beautiful in the canon of the Eternal Court. They live together in a demi-plane of Hevastus, The Eternal City, called The Library of All Things. This seemingly endless library contains all of what is known in existence and contains a multitude of floors dedicated to Aeyar's musings and discoveries. They split the rest of their time in the Twilight Observatory, Aeyar's tool for observing the growth of the Wellspring.

Holy Books & Codes
- The Book of the Summoned Spark - Depicts Aeyar's birth on the moon Othena, his relationship with his parentage (Caedalin, The Artist and Luthena, The Imagined Maiden), as well as his siblings (Eiludi, The Knotted Souls, Glimmer, The Celebration and Thelena, The Inevitable Embrace).
- Methodologies - Required reading for most wizards and other studious spellcasters, this enormous text claims to represent Aeyar's methods of inquiry into the realm of the arcane. It does not include any of the spells he developed, instead presenting elaborate instructions for others to develop spells of their own. Perhaps most importantly, it explains what not to do when experimenting with the fundamental forces of the universe.
- The Knowing of Qomos - Ostensibly a religious text dedicated to Qomos, The Open Book and his extensive cataloging of all available knowledge in the universe, this tome also includes much of the knowledge of the Wellspring and its magic contributed by Aeyar. However, perhaps most interestingly, it highlights the loving relationship between Aeyar and Qomos - which is often considered one of the most beautiful stories in all of Eternal Court mythology.

It is often used as a recruitment tool for local universities. It is especially beloved in rural communities, where magic is less prevalent. Many young wizards sight the Festival as their reason for entering their studies.

Physical Description
Body Features
Aeyar is traditionally represented with Elven features, received from his father - Caedalin, The Artist. He is slender and tall and often depicted with the chalky dark gray skin of a Drow. His ears are long and pointed, reaching as far as the top of his head. That said, he is distinguished from mortal elves by the third eye on the center of his forehead, as well as two additional eyes on the palms of his hands.
Because of this he is sometimes referred to as "The Five-Eyed God". One eye to watch Aorna, one to watch the Wellspring, one to watch the Shade, one to watch the Astral Plane, and a final to watch his followers.
In statues and relief paintings, he is often visualized as seated at a desk, writing with a quill in his left hand, while his right hand is outstretched, flames emerging from his fingertips. In some stories, he travels the material plane as an arctic fox.
