The Shattering
In the final days of the Age of Gods, Imos stood united. Then, Dagor, lieutenant of The Demon Emperor, established his fortress in Hesi'Thaczil, now known as the Ruined Dominion. A desperate alliance of Spirits, Elves, Dwarves, and Shining Men marched against him, hoping to weaken the Dark Host. The combined forces fought valiantly, but many fell. Their king dueled a demonic commander, nearly losing his life, while the Elves and Dwarves breached Dagor's gates. As Spirits surged through, they were met by the Demon Emperor himself, leading the charge. Artorias, the young prince of the Elfwood, rushed to slay him, but his life was snuffed out in a brutal twist of the neck.
Hope seemed lost. The Shining Men, in a final act of sacrifice, offered their souls to Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon. He answered their plea, tearing through reality with blinding fury. Where darkness had reigned, his wrath unleashed a storm of cleansing flame, consuming demons, goblins, orcs, and even men corrupted by evil.
The Demon Emperor, desperate to match Bahamut's power, made a pact with Tiamat, the five-headed chromatic dragon. The cost was immense. She devoured countless souls, even claiming the Emperor and his generals.
Then, the world trembled. Dragon god clashed against dragon god. Armies cowered as Bahamut and Tiamat carved canyons into the earth with their titanic forms. Neither gained the upper hand, until, in a flash, Tiamat lunged for Bahamut's throat. He countered, soaring above and unleashing a blast of platinum fire that severed one of her heads. Wailing in pain and fury, Tiamat retreated, vowing vengeance. Her severed head plunged into the ocean, while Bahamut roared in triumph and vanished.
He reappeared before the survivors, his booming voice a reminder of their near annihilation. "Remember my mercy," he warned, "and do not squander it." With that, he returned to his realm.
The clash of the gods had fractured Imos, splitting the once-whole continent into shards. Bahamut's passing roar resonated with magic, empowering the Spirits to ascend as new gods, filling the void left by the fallen. Aphirion, the world around them, pulsed with renewed life. A new age dawned, forever marked by the scars of the battle and the legacy of the dragon gods.
