The World of Aphirion

Aphirion(pronounced:/A-fer-e-on/or/Af-er-i-on/) is the fourth planetary body from the sun in it's solar system. It exists on a material plane and is orbited by three moons, a large yellow moon called Celia, a slightly smaller white moon called Selûne, and a small blue moon called Luinë. Aphirion is comparable in size to the planet Earth, it has an equatorial circumference of just under 24,950 miles and a polar circumference of approximately 24,920 miles. It consists of several continents and islands, including Imos, Irilith, Siguo, Ringe, and Selvirnarn. As well as 5 major Oceans called the Remnant Ocean, The Rhandir Sea, The Falltham Expanse, The Storming Sea, and The Motionless Sea.
History
Aphirion has been marked by three distinct ages: The Age of the Gods, the Age of Prosperity, and the New Age. In it's history, the planet has survived several catastrophes. Notably these include The Shattering of Imos, the Protractment of the Seasons, the Mistveil spread, and the dead winds of the Falltham expanse. The current year is the 990th year of the New Age.   The Aphiric Calendar year lasts 350 days over the course of 13 months. Each day is 24hrs in length with 6 days in a week. The days of the week, in order, are Thraday, Aesday, Praday, Medday, Valday, and Serday.
Continents
  • Imos, The Shattered Continent: Usually referred to by its moniker, The Shattered Continent, Imos was once a continuous expansive landmass before the events of The Shattering. It now consists of several sub-continents and islands; Vestri, Hesi'Thaczil, Cagailt, Goblyn, The Blood Isles, and the Bodach Archipelago. Imos from it's most eastern and western points is 3441.5 miles across and 1319.9 miles from it's most northern to southern points. It is situated in the North-Eastern hemisphere of Aphirion, it is a diverse landscape inhabited by numerous races and cultures.

  • Ringe, The Frozen Northern Continent: A chilling realm cloaked in perpetual snow, Ringe huddles at the northern tip of Aphirion. Here, hardy frost elves endure alongside nightmarish creatures, remnants of ages past banished for their malevolence. Ringe is made of three vast frozen landmasses, each named for the elven matrons who once sought to cleanse the land of its darkness: Vala to the west, Orla in the center, and Asharil to the east.   Though some attempt to use Ringe as a bridge between Irilith and Imos, the perils are immense. Vicious beasts prowl the frozen wastes, and the unforgiving climate claims the lives of even the most seasoned travelers.

  • Irilith: Sprawling across Aphirion, Irilith boasts the widest range of biomes and inhabitants. From the frozen north to the sun-baked south, diverse cultures and races thrive, mirroring the continent's rich tapestry. Yet, a looming threat hangs heavy in the air - the Mistveil. This enigmatic island cloaks the eastern coast in a periodic shroud of mist, bringing blight and death in its wake. Every few decades or centuries, the mist creeps westward, engulfing the land in its chilling embrace.   The people of Irilith have not succumbed to despair. A unique culture of "Mist Hunters" has emerged, dedicated to combating the diseases and demons that accompany the mist. These brave souls stand as a testament to Irilith's resilience, ever vigilant against the encroaching darkness.

  • Selvinarn: Sat at Aphirion's southern pole, Selvinarn reigns as the realm of perpetual frost. Vast, polar deserts stretch endlessly, their icy plains echoing with whispers of blizzards. Towering mountains pierce the frigid sky, eternally cloaked in snow. Bathed in the faintest kiss of the sun, this desolate monument seems to crackle with the bite of frost. Only the hardiest creatures, forged in the bone-chilling embrace, cling to existence here.   Yet, within this emptiness, a haunting beauty unfolds. Otherworldly landscapes, sculpted by wind and ice, captivate the eye. The ethereal dance of the aurora paints the sky in fleeting bursts of color, a vibrant counterpoint to the monochrome world. For those who dare to breach Selvinarn's icy grip, a profound awe awaits, a stark reminder of nature's raw power and chilling indifference.

  • Sigou: A continent in the southeastern hemisphere of Aphirion, is defined by its vast, canyon-scarred deserts and lush coastlines seperated by old mountains. Renowned for its diverse cultures and rich traditions, Sigou's people hold honor and duty as core values. Each of its ancient kingdoms boasts a unique history, woven into the very fabric of the land.
