Carvations of what was once planet Nexus float through space, forming what the inhabitants of one such continent sized carvation call the Waving World.
The sky on this carvation is filled with towers of light reaching up from ancient standing stones to the criss-crossing meshwork of glowing lines above that stretch to the horizon, what scholars refer to as the Rafters, which are only revealed under moonlight.
Mile-long land arches engraved with draconic visages extend over the young settlements of the Expeditionists, newly arrived on this uninhabited continent of T'vegnol where unnaturally long lifespan is the birthright of all who live here.
Weather on T'vegnol is the source of natural magic. A light snow might turn those walking under it invisible, or a strong wind may confer the ability to fly on those it buffets. The inhabitants have learned to harness this power to a variety of purposes, from having the yearly hunt in the winter so their approach is concealed, to delaying logging attempts until Summer when men are gifted enhanced strength and endurance.
