The red fox is the precursor of many other fox or fox-like species. They are widespread throughout Aquatica, there are many subspecies as well. These foxes are smart and very adaptable

Anatomy
In form, they are similar to canines. They have long legs, big ears, and a bushy tail.
Genetics and Reproduction
They form mated pairs, usually for life. Commonly multiple pairs live together in groups or tribes, sharing the raising of the young. Females are fertile once a year, usually in the winter. Their gestation lasts for 50-60 days. Usually, only the dominant male and female mate and the others help take care of the offspring. Litters are usually 4-6 kits, although rarely there can be up to 12.
Growth Rate & Stages
Kits are born helpless, nurse for up to two months, but try out solid for in half this time. They reach adult size at 6 months, and maturity at close to 10, females can bear their first litter at one year old.

Dietary Needs and Habits
They are carnivores primarily eating various types of rodents, rabbits, birds, reptiles, bugs, and small hooved animals. Fruits and vegetables are also eaten at need. They are opportunistic hunters, and usually hunt either singly or in pairs.
