Gnome

Gnomes are distant relatives of the fae, and legends tell of a time when they lived in the Feywild, a place where colors were brighter, the wilds wilder and emotions more primal. An unknown force drove their ancestors from that realm long ago and forced them to seek refuge in this world. Though gnomes are no longer truly fae, their innate magic never left them only lessened, their prankster ways and their outlooks on life and the world. They often seem to be impetuous and a little mad. Gnomes are often driven by passions and desires that those of other races see as eccentric at best, and foolish at worst. This is one reason that they prefer to live in their own communities and able to live how they like around others of their kind.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Gnomes are one of the smallest races, often standing over 3 feet in height. Despite their small frames, they are extremely resilient, and not as weak as many of their foes assume.  Their hair and skin color vary so wildly that many outsiders assume that they use dies and illusions to change them. Their natural hues truly range over a rainbow of coloration. Hair tends toward vibrant colors such as fiery orange of autumn leaves, verdant green of forests at springtime, or deep reds and purples of wildflowers in bloom. While their skin tones range from browns to pinks, and gnomes with black, light blue or even green skin are not uncommon. Gnomes' coloration has little regard for heredity, their parents have no bearing on their own appearance. Many gnomes have overly large mouths and eyes, or large eyes and smallmouth. They rarely take pride or show embarrassment about their features, but other rares find it odd and deserving of insults.
