King
King is the title given to a male monarch, the female is called a Queen. He is the highest authority in most countries. They oversee the government and have the final say over most laws and to act as a military leader.
Some kings are only figureheads, while others are basically dictators. They can be hereditary, elected, or win the right to rule as a result of a trial by combat.
Depending on the country, he could be the law in all that he says, or he could be beholden to a constitution, council, or to his own nobility. This varies from country to country. Some examples of nobility are emperor, king, prince, duke, marques, earl/count, viscount, baron. Freemen: baronet/lord, knight, squire/esquire, gentleman, commoner.

The King is supposed to protect the kingdom, make good trade deals that increase wealth in the kingdom, redistribute taxes for the poor, and upkeep the kingdom. Protect the citizens, provide a stable, prosperous economy.
Defend the church, keep the peace, oversee justice, uphold the laws. Participation in religious rituals.

To live in the royal castle, hunting lands, servants, royal guard, access to the treasury, etc.
