Arnaldo Guilliero, The Younger
Arnaldo Guilliero is the one surving heir of the unfortunate Guilliero family. One a prominent family, the failures of Arnaldo Guilliero I irrevocably damaged the reputation, and this has heavily impacted the modern Arnaldo.
He has dark curly hair that is rapidly turning grey, highlighted by a shock of white that is the genetic marker of his Guilliero heritage. His has a thick, unkempt beard, which may or may not have been singed away in several places. One of his eyes is clouded and does not move the way it probably should, which could lead one to believe that it may well be glass. Arnaldo runs an apothecary on Lo Spiedo. Arnaldo’s apothecary is not easy to locate without an address as he does not use his family name. Even after three hundred years, it still holds connotations of delusion and drives customers away. His small establishment is tucked away. He lives in a small apartment directly above the shop and uses the top floor of the building as a laboratory.
Darkened glass obscures the interior, but the cracked and faded signage reads ‘farmacia’. The door is light and swings easily on its hinges, frequently smashing into the wall with a loud bang. It is usually this which alerts Arnaldo to new arrivals.
During business hours, Arnaldo can be found behind his counter, but after hours he is usually working on his experiments. When the party return to Arnaldo with a captive vampire spawn for his experiments and he reluctantly agrees to escort them to his family’s ancestral house. Karu had been tending the shop in the meantime.
The party explore the Casa di Chimera, meeting many victims of the Guilliero family curse and freeing some, whilst destroying others. They eventually encounter the ghost of Arnaldo Guilliero (the elder) and learn that only by proving the existence of the Forgotten Land and restoring his family name will the curse be lifted.
In return for a promise to lift the curse, the ghost of Arnadlo tells the party that opening his chest requires the blood of Arnaldo Guilliero and to believe. By using Arnaldo’s blood and saying the words ‘I believe’ the chest opens and the players gain access to its contents: The Lost Journal of Arnaldo Guilliero and charts to locate the island of the Forgotten Land where they hope to find the Elemental Temple of Earth and the Ring of the Maelstrom.
