Ring of the Maelstrom
The Ring of the Maelstrom contains the essence of and a link to the elemental Water. As the world was created, a little of its key elements were left over and forged into the elemental rings. The Water was forged into the Ring of the Maelstrom.
The history of this ring is not known before the sequestration of the Rings, but it was likely in the hands of the Dragonborn Royalty of Mitzu at the time they were hidden away at the four corners of the world. It was placed in a purpose-built arcane temple high in the mountains of Mitzu. This mountain was hollowed out and filled with an arcane sea. It could only be found by the light of the Eye of Mercannan when placed in the Imperial Throne at a precise time of year.
The Thanes of Order later found the Ring of Maelstrom in the Sacrarium of Water.Mechanics & Inner Workings
