Personal history

Spawned from the nightmarish fever dreams of the Dread Lord beholder Xanfovos, this albino gazer was literally dreamed into existence. Amused by the creatures babbling mimicry, the Lord of Dread kept the gazer as a pet until its eventual demise at the hands of Karnak  and the Thanes of Order.
Hiding within the skeleton of a long-dead mage, the gazer was inadvertently transported out of the tower as the party made a mad grab for loot and revealed itself when they examined their finds. Similarly amused by the creature’s childish mimicry of Gamble, Jed Kingsdown formed an eldritch bond with the creature and named it ‘Cally’. Through this bond, Jed was able to use Cally as a familiar, temporarily exerting control over the aberration’s actions and using its senses as though they were his own.
Unfortunately for Cally, this relationship would be far from smooth and eventually led to the creature’s demise. First, it was commanded to fly through the suspicious illusory altar of the Obliviati temple known as the Precipice, only to collide with a solid wall. Then, on an unsuccessful reconnaissance mission within a hidden area of the same temple, Cally would be obliterated by an arcane cannon belonging to Amaro the Tinkerer.
