The Crystalline Outpost

In the far west of the Wilderness, close to the border that separates it from the elven kingdom, lies one of the few larger settlements called the Crystalline Outpost. Out there, many elves, dwarves and Omni have found refuge after being banished or disconnected from their home countries. The outpost got its name due to past elven conquerors overrunning the small town and building a makeshift chapel for Lumaia's father in the heart of it. Nowadays, the chapel has been turned into a place of worship for the Council of Aeva. The former elven king has been removed from the chapel and the stained glass windows have been reused for depictions of Pa'axi Heratta and Lady Aeva, The Peacemaker and The Creator. Few inhabitants of the outpost worship Iomer, the Jester King, as well for freeing the wilderness of the dwarven conquerors. There are also shrines to honour Korkrax, the Alchemist, for saving his fellow neighbours from corrupt elven soldiers, but these are rarer due to Korkrax's divisive history.   The outpost is known for its dark and gloomy atmosphere with citizens that are kindhearted and blunt. There is a forest closeby that is directly connected to its outskirts and is both a place of worry and blessing for the inhabitants, since special foods and fresh water can be easily found there. Apart from being a place of rest for many after the Bloodthirst King's war against the elves, the outpost is a beloved setting for new adventurers to find new companions and mercenaries to join their group. There are alchemy shops and pharmacies, specialists for beast taming and pet care, blacksmiths and wood workers (even elven ones), great taverns and little houses whose owners would gladly take a guest in exchange for some coin or a pair of hands for chores around the house.   Travellers are welcome to visit the outpost, especially before entering Camorand in the west or attending one of Iomer's festivals in the north east.

Tourism

Most of the people visiting the outpost that aren't already settled there are either refugees from the immortal kingdoms, family members of the inhabitants or tourists and adventurers from Lorla and beyond. The settlers here are always glad to get to know new people and include their guests into their daily lives as soon as they've stayed for more than a few hours. It's easy to make friends and find business partners, sell items you don't need or trade them with new acquaintances at the nearest tavern.
