While getting back into the rhythm of his pre-adventurer life Mason starts looking in the assassination attempt on Amelia's life and find out who put out the contract and why. He knows full well that Arlo is resourceful enough to find the answers on his own but the timing of when it happened and who saved her continues to knaw at him. Reaching out to "legally flexible" contacts he's made since joining the group, he offers 200 GP for information and proof of who put the hit on Amelia. Mason doesn't continually talk about his adventures but every now and then something reminds him of what he's done and he does feel sad. He writes a unsealed letter to his friend's sending it to Fip's parents knowing that they would get it to him and the others.   "My dear friends, I'm sorry I left so suddenly but I hope Scree filled you all in on the letter from Amelia. I love her deeply and love all of you, yes even Erik to a extent. I'm not sure if time will permit me to travel with any of you again but I pray that you all will be stay somewhat safe in your future travels. I had a idea for the business that i'll hold on too til y'all can see it and give your opinion. I can't see my life without her and after that trip to the future where I find Amelia dead I find it hard to be too far from her to keep her safe. I did put the idea out there for her to join us but she's not interested in adventuring and I don't blame her but she hasn't seen the look of relief on people's faces after we help them no matter the outcome we give people a since of closure. I don't know what the future will bring but I'll cherish the deeds we've accomplished from possibly putting a end of the Fungus disease, which I haven't seen or heard of any new cases since we killed that creature or stopping the Great Worm from being freed (I'm still mad I lost my portable hole.). Please look out for each other and when in Isondale please come visit me."     Your friend, Mason Farson"   Mason just folds the letter realizing he's gonna be late for a appointment if he doesn't hurry so he asks Amelia to send the letter for him along with 25 platinum for the group. (If Amelia reads the letter is up to you Greg)

Choices

After leaving Scree, Mason heads to the caravan going to Isondale, setting aside 200 GP for the trip or any provisions he might need. Along the way he decides to go ahead and buys 4 days of rations and 3 water skins just to be on the safe side. Reading the letter from Amelia over and over again, Mason contemplates the decision that led to here. He hated the way he just left with only talking to Scree and leaving it to her to explain to the others but he had already wasted a week of time he could have fixed things with his wife. Noticing how she said worded the letter worries him some about what someone may be saying about him in his absence. It doesn’t help that her family in Frandlyn didn’t even acknowledge him and treated as dirt. As he travels he thinks about what he will say and possible things she might say or who he might encounter. Saying a prayer to Tymora throughout the trip begging her to aid in him making the right decision of whether to stay in Isondale or continue adventuring. He doesn't really care about adventuring but it's the helping others that he loves doing. At one point in the trip he has a wondering idea and a image in his mind of Amelia and himself traveling together becoming one of the heroic married duos told in bards tale and legend that he couldn't help smiling about and fantasizing about to help pass the time. During breaks between daydreaming and trying not to worry, Mason creates his homunculus servant that looks like a mechanical koala and names her Mimi. After he works on plans for diagrams for a device he's calling a "Umbrella". Using weather treated material supported by small metal rods and one long metal rod with a handle to block the rain off of themselves. A simple item for everyone and a alternative to cloaks on rainy days.

Shopping

After bidding farewell to Fip's parents, Mason start heading to the Summer Court where his mother in-law's house is and where Amelia and hopefully his parents are. Along the way Mason takes note of several shops and makes a mental note to go to several of these shops through the week to look for and purchase actual Sending Stones to free up a infusement.. Putting 300 gold away for the purchase.

Moradin's Eye

Making her way from Moradin's Temple after evening services, Ginmaelda Farson is heading to her daughter in-law Amelia's house to check up on her and hear about her son Mason's latest antics. Along the way she passes a group of dwarf children jumping rope an singing a old nursery rhyme that she taught Mason when he was a child and even when she was a young dwarfling.   "He looks upon you with strength" "Judge your work with wisdom" "Create under Moradin's gaze and make you race proud" "But make sure clean up your space or Moradin will put egg on your face!"

From the journal of Tips Farson(16 yrs old)

146 PE,   We went to worship at the The Revered Mother temple today. Dad and me aren't big worshipers Mom fussed over our clothes for over an hour like usual muttering how we're not gonna embarrass her by looking like hot messes. We got to the temple and like usual I indulged my mom by sitting next to them during the morning service although I am a little out of place being a 16 yr old tiefling in a dwarf deity temple sitting next to 2 dwarfs. As usual the folks socialized amongst the other followers but I wondered off and walked the temple, just roaming the hall's I found my way to the temple library which in itself is impressive but this one was really next level. I think what makes library so unique is that it has a decent variety books not just being only religious docturine but some other books like "Bridging the Gap. The balance between Science and Magic!"(which first sparked my interest in Artificing) and for some unknown reason I felt a strong pull to another book that I don't remember the name of but it listed many types of Deities, Demons, and Races. It was a THICK book. Don't know why but the information of the Goddess Tymora stood out to me and got me to thinking about how much she had to do with my life, the choice's that I and others have made to get where they are today and how one "random" choice of right or left, right and wrong can alter or correct your path. There 2 more parts of the book that caught my interest. Aasimar and Cambions. Strange mess to be drawn too but I'm a strange mix. I remember my original mother was a Aasimar and I've always assumed my original dad was a tiefling. Some see me as a abomination, especially a number of the various "Religious Leaders" have tried to make a examble of me but thankfully Mom and Dad didn't put up with it. They fought for me and defended me since the first day they took me in and I don't know which god or goddess is watching over me but if I ever meet them then I wall serve them!

Downtime #5

Starting work on the power core using the Behir crystal I harvested. The first step is creating a shell that is made out of copper with silver bands on the outside to reinforce it with the lightening crystal inside suspended in a amplification fluid to stabilize and enhance the charge. On the outside of the shell will eventually be crystals that will help funnel the energy to a outer ring to power the apparatus or weapon. When taking a break I'll use my sending stone to talk to Amelia, wondering when she'll be done helping her father and able to come back. I tell her briefly that I time traveled and that it unsettled me a bit but I'm so happy she's in my life.

The Journal Entry’s title

Mason repeats the errand of filling vial's of acid from the Alchemy Jug to sell. He also gives Amelia the bundle of silk he harvested for her to do with as she pleases and continues to enjoy having time to spend with her that was rare to come by when he was running errands for the shipping business through the Astral Sea.

Downtime #4

After returning from rescuing Amelia from the Bagman, Mason takes her back to their house to recover. Filling the house with strong autumn smells to help her recover including her favorite smell Pumpkin Spice. While she rests Mason uses his Alchemy Jug to fill 2 vials each day to sell for 25 gold each vial(use Flash of Genius feat for any ability checks needed.} After doing the task with the acid vials, Mason takes Amelia out for walks by the lake and woods to help her recover.

Downtime #3

Immediately after returning for the Fey Wild, Mason grabs his sending stone and says "Honey, I'm back! Please tell me years haven't passed! I'm coming home ASAP!" Mason informs everyone that he's going home for awhile and will return. Having restocked supplies with Alchemy Jug ready, Mason takes flight back to Isondale using his wing's and winged boots, following close to the same path as before (will use my Flash of Genius ability to help rolls). Once home Mason tells Amelia everything that happened including being titled by the Frog, giving her the Witchlight Carnival ticket he brought back for her as a souvenir and spends as much time as possible with her. Also goes see Arlo about getting a updated "Letter of Resources" After much thought, Mason offers to take Amelia back with him letting her know that there's not much in the way of luxury but it will give them more time together. Mason agrees with Arlo that if she does go then he'll want her to have a bodyguard while she's away, not because of any doubt in Mason's ability to keep her safe but just because she traveled without guard she was attacked and Arlo won't take any chances.

(Yurthgreen)Letter to Ebony Artificer's Grand Works Academy

"To the Department of Arcane Research... "My name is Mason Farson, former apprentice to Master Onach. This letter is to request any research on making a mechanical power core using a gyroscope and possible element stone for primary energy. I mainly need to know if any research has been done with this method of power, also using the same stone on the outer arms of the gyroscope to regulate and amplify the energy for larger constructs. Plus anatomical schematics for various "animal" constructs . Best metals to use for internal mechenisms and required specilty parts. Please send response to Lady Amelia Tyne-Farson of the Tyne House in Isondale."     With great appreciation, Mason Farson, House of Tyne

(Yurthgreen)Letter to Amelia

"My Beloved, I feel the same pain as you every time I have to leave you but thankfully unlike the trips I would take in the Astral Sea for you father when he needed me to escort a shipment I am at least on the same plane as you and can talk to you each day using these Sending Stones I created. They are a once a day use and being able to hear your voice each day will make this time apart from you somewhat easier. I would have asked you to come with me but I know how much your father depends on you to help with the company and the place I'm staying at is no place for a Lady of the Tyne household and it wouldn't be right for me to leave you alone in a tavern for prolong periods while I'm away on errands or whatever crazy this group agrees too. I know you don't care much for this whole Nobility thing and only keeping it up for your father and business. If it was just me and you til we growed old then I wouldn't mind running off with you but I believe that Tymora will bless us our own little trouble makers one day and I want them to have the best chance to succeed in whatever they decide to do with their lives. No matter if they decide to be a guard like my father, brilliant business owner like their mother or a crazy inventer/adventurer like their father. You wouldn't believe the craziness we just got through surviving. First off we agreed to help the townsfolk to find out what was depleting the local wild life and making meat and hide scarce. We made our way to the forest Northwest of Zamova where we came across several dead animals that we burned to cut the smell of decay (which was bad). We eventually found a cave with a group of humanoids hording the meat and hides of the animals. They attacked first and we finished it. We discovered a portal in a tree near the cave which lead us to the estate or castle in Frandyln of the man (we learned later) who was finaceing the whole operation to complete some perverted ritual. He had near a dozen girls of elf/human decent to summon so entity, not sure what it was but we won and freed the woman. The group was given as a reward the estate. Not sure what we're gonna do with it and gotta get rid of the gelatinous cube trip but all and all not a bad reward. I love you and dream of you always!"

Downtime #2 Yurthgreen

Mason spending his time going through his various designs and abilities realizes that he's a idiot and uses his replicate magic item ability and creates a set of Sending Stones, one he plans to send to his wife Amelia. Along with 2 letters. One to her telling her about what's since he returned and about the sending stone he made for them to talk. The other letter he asks Amelia to send to his teachers back in Onyxmourne is asking for their advice about a idea he has for a power source which includes a disign for a containment gyro to contain and amplify the energy to be used in a medium to large construct. He's gonna send 50 gold, 20 for Amelia to keep and set aside for themselves and the other 30 to be sent to his teacher for any materials or research cost they might need. He's then begins to work on a new wagon for the party, looking for a 6ft by 10ft base and frame to construction with. 30 gold is put aside for this project.

Downtime #1

Begin writing you Mason is gonna fly back home to visit his wife, alternating between walk when my wings are tired and using my boots of flying when able. Created a Alchemy Jar for water and other liquids. Just gonna eat the rations he already has and will replenish them when at home. Once there I'll tell her everything thats happened and about the group I'm with and do my husband duties while there. Also giving her as much information I have on each member. Talk to Arlo about Acq. Inc and what he might know about them and also give him 40gp to buy me a keg of gunpowder for a invention I'm thinking of building. But overall spend as much time as possible with Amelia.

Origin

Mason "Tips" Farson is an Astral Drifter that has recently arrived in Isondale. Mason has designs all over his body but does not know their origin as he was born with them. He married Amelia Tyne, whom he saved from being assualted by Spelljammer pirates while he was on a journey through the Astral Sea. Mason's father was a tiefling and mother was a aasimar, thus he has a rather unusual heritage as a rare hybrid. He took up the study of magic and how it connects to creating special devices at an early age and has since become an artificer. Mason was "rescued and raised by a dwarven city guard" Rockerd Farson at the young age of 5 during a battle which took place at his village of Riverhaven. Both of his parents, as far as he knows are assumed dead. The battle was fought between the armies of Mordredia and Isondale. Mason took Rockerd's last name since he was the only father he could remember. After being ridiculed for most of his youth due to his unique heritage. At 12 years old Rockerd arranged for Mason to be a cabin boy for Captain Lizabeth Martok of the Bastion Queen, a Hammerhead Spelljammer Ship. 2 years after he joined them they were attack by a band of Space Clowns. Not wanting to end up as a slave or worst dinner, Mason jumped over the edge and just drifted into the Astral Sea. Eventually rescued by a passing transport unsure of how long he was out there, he was sure of 1 thing, he was watched over by a beautiful goddess who just said "I am by your side, my lucky one!". After asking a few questions of his rescuers he found that he had met Tymora- Lady Luck. Eventually signing on with another spelljammer ship he spent several decades visiting other realms besides his own of Aragoth. On one of his trips to the city of Onyxmourne, he was stunned at the way they used magic and machine together. With his captains permission he stayed for a year to learn what he could of the art of Artificing. While in in transit to rejoin his crew, Mason heard a commotion down down in the galley and saw a incredible elven woman being assaulted by a pair of drunken crew members. While fighting the pair the fight moved up on the top deck. Other crew joined in to restrain one of the attacking drunkards but the other was unfortunatly knocked overboard. Without thinking Mason threw himself overboard after him and for the first time in years, he unforled his hidden wings and saved the man from drifting into the Astral Sea. Bringing him back on the ship Mason quickly furled his wings back into their pockets just so the staring would stop. Mason fell instantly in love. After escorting her home, Amelia told her father Arlo what he did for her. Mason surprised to learn they were one of the noble houses. Arlo offered anything to repay him for what he did and all Mason asked for was Amelia's hand in marriage. Arlo was hesitant at first but seeing the way the two looked at each other Arlo knew this would be a better match then the man, Reginald Theros 6th, trying to buy her hand and was only interested in his company. After Mason and Amelia were wed, Mason took to doing escort run for Arlo's company when he wanted an extra eye kept on something with one of his shipments. Even though Mason was a follower of Tymora, he was still looked upon as a abomination by some of the religious organizations. Doesn't help that Reginald constantly talks down about Mason to the other houses.
