Aasimar/Exultant

Aasimars are humans--and sometimes others--who have had their essence shaped in the womb by the hierojules, beatific beings of light manifested into flesh who serve as the emissaries of the Pancreator to the peoples of Aramanth. This shaping infuses the unborn child's being with that of the hierojule, creating what is known as an Exultant, or Aasimar. Since that time more Exultants were formed that way, the exultant's nature can also be passed down to their children, though only through the mother.    Exultants bear a deep resemblance for the race of their mother, but bear several features distinguishing them. They are usually notable taller with slightly longer necks. Their hair and eyes glow with an iridescent sheen, and their skin often bears a silver or golden hue.  Their voice can take on odd tonal qualities, sometimes seeming to echo or bear chiming notes behind it.    The Exultist faith is named after these beings, for their creation--a union of human and the divine--formed the initial covenant with the Pancreator. Throughout the history of the Commonwealth, Exultants have been honored and revered belonging to their own class within that society, though never themselves serving as the Autarch.    Exultants each share a link with the hierojules who formed them, or the one who formed the first Exultant of their line that is part mental, and part something more. Many exultants describe it as though they were almost an extension of the otherworldly beings whose essence they share. This is a fact comforting to many, and disquieting to others. While many Exultants take pride in their divine connection and the meaning it places upon them within their faith, others chafe under the expectations put upon them, particularly ones who for one reason or another do not adhere to the Exultist faith.    Exultant adventurers are usually questing in service to the Commonwealth, or at least with that goal in mind. It is not uncommon to find those who travel such perilous lives to escape such service, finding a life of constant travel and potential anonymity (as much as their appearance can allow it, anyway) preferable to the expectations put upon them by their lineage.    Exultants use the racial features of the Aasimar, which can be found here.
