Dragonborn

For most people, dragons are creatures of myth. Few people know about dragons beyond rumors and legends. Scholars state that they are massive creatures who come to Aramanth from the void for unknown reasons. They stay for decades or centuries, secluded in remote areas of the world, and then return to the inky blackness from whence they came once their task is done. But when they do, they often leave things behind. The Dragonborn are one of those things. The Dragonborn are a race of beings created to serve the inscrutable dragons for the duration of their stay on Aramanth. It is unknown how exactly the Dragonborn are brought forth, if they are created, bred, brought, or maybe even willed into existence is a mystery even to the Dragonborn, who have little memory of their time in thrall to the dragon. It is only when the massive creatures leave do they gain a will of their own. The diversity among Dragonborn owes to the fact that each dragon makes matches its type and features, as if they were made in its very image. Aside from this particular gift, the dragons seem to have little regard for their creations and even less for the Dragonborn created by others. Because of this, Dragonborn often have complicated feelings towards there creators. Some still worship them, while others, particularly children of first generations, are more likely to feel embittered or disdainful of the beings who abandoned them. Dragonborn can be found in most well-populated cities, and often out in the wilds, where their sturdy nature and natural defenses mean they can fare some better than others. Some Dragonborn commit themselves to hunt down dragons still extant on Aramanth, eager to get answers or, sometimes, revenge.
